We're making good on our promise {NAME}, The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored and exacerbated many of the inequities that already existed in our healthcare system, including who has access to quality health coverage. Last year, over 27 million Americans lost their employer-sponsored health coverage as a result of the pandemic, including hundreds of thousands of people right here in Wisconsin. On top of that, many of our state’s essential workers had no form of insurance coverage to begin with. This isn’t right: we need to take urgent steps to make sure everyone in our state is covered. That’s why Gov. Evers and I have laid the groundwork to expand BadgerCare in our budget and make quality, affordable healthcare available to over 90,000 Wisconsinites. Not only will thousands of uninsured people gain access to the coverage they need, but experts are projecting our plan could generate massive tax savings for our state: [Help Us Expand Healthcare →]( For years, Republicans in our legislature have refused to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, and they’ve turned away billions in funding for healthcare in the process. But this is OUR money that taxpayers have already sent to Washington — and it’s time for us to get it back and begin providing quality, affordable healthcare to everyone who needs it in our state. Our budget expands BadgerCare while investing millions in mental healthcare, expanding telehealth services, tackling racial disparities in health outcomes, and lowering prescription drug costs. The promise of affordable healthcare for all has been delayed for too long — the time to act is now. [Invest in our movement to fight for healthcare for all in Wisconsin.
