These plastics mess up your “man hormones”

And you probably touched it, even consumed some of it this weekend! -----Important Message----- Living 30 years longer? [I just created a short, few minute video where I reveal this one easy thing]( ----------------- These plastics mess up your “man hormones” Have you ever heard the term “endocrine disruptors”? Most people haven’t. And it’s not your fault. Doctors don’t really know about them and they don’t make the news very often. But they can cause all kinds of havoc with your hormones, so it’s important to know about them. Endocrine disruptors are chemicals (usually from plastics) that mess up the way your body produces hormones. They cause long-term health consequences. But those health consequences are often hard to pinpoint because the effects accumulate over time – instead of affecting you all at once the way a traditional poison would. 20 years ago, scientists found a substance in plastic called BPA (bisphenol A) that was shown to be a serious endocrine disruptor in humans. Because of that discovery, you can now find bottles and other plastics labeled “BPA free” in every market in the country. BUT… here’s the big, fat hairy problem... The chemicals they used to replace bisphenol A were just other bisphenols. And now… Researchers are finding out that these “other” bisphenols have the same effect on the human body as the BPA versions. BUT now we know far more about genetics. And we know the effects of this crud in our environments could last for three full generations. This is a huge problem. [12-23-18-IMG-2] can't see this image? Click on "load images" or "always allow images for this sender" Bisphenols in plastics = problems with sperm and eggs This is just insane. This study wasn’t even meant to happen. Scientists first noticed problems with their mice and the data they were getting. It turned out the mice were in damaged cages and that was exposing them to environmental plastics. The plastics in these cages contained the new and supposedly “safe” bisphenols. But… they weren’t safe. They were and are causing tons of problems with both egg and sperm production. “However, she and her colleagues were able to determine that the mice were being exposed to replacement bisphenols. They also saw that the disturbance in the lab was causing problems in the production of both eggs and sperm.” After discovering this accidental contamination, the researchers decided they better figure out exactly what was going on. So they set up a study to see what the effects of these replacement bisphenols (which are in all kinds of plastics) are. They attempted to mimic the same amount of plastics exposure that humans normally get. “...although determining the levels of human exposure is difficult – their controlled experiments were conducted using low doses of BPS and other replacement bisphenols thought to be relevant to exposure in people using BPA-free plastics.” And here is the biggest part of this problem… This plastic contamination in our environment not only affects the person exposed to it… It makes changes to our basic genetic structure. Three generations of problems… Because this is affecting eggs and sperm – our germline – we are passing the changes caused by bisphenols down to our children! And to their children as well. “These problems, if they hold true in people as has been shown in the case of BPA, will carry over to future generations through their effects on the germline. The researchers showed that, if it were possible to eliminate bisphenol contaminants completely, the effects would still persist for about three generations.” And they don’t think bisphenols are the only problem chemicals we’re exposed to. There are many other commonly used endocrine-disrupting chemicals in our environments. “Hunt says more work is needed to determine whether some replacement bisphenols might be safer than others, noting that there are dozens of such chemicals now in use. She also suspects that other widely used and endocrine-disrupting chemicals, including parabens, phthalates, and flame retardants, may be having similarly adverse effects on fertility that warrant much more study.” The basic takeaway from all of this is to limit your use of plastics as much as possible. But it’s especially important not to heat things in plastic. Don’t ever microwave in plastic, it leaches these chemicals directly into your food. And replace your plastic containers with glass and ceramic where possible. With our more advanced understanding of genetics, we are only now finding out the real problems caused by plastics.
