Today’s Top Stories From the Breitbart News Desk Take a walk down the central shopping district

[Maganomics]( Today’s Top Stories From the Breitbart News Desk Take a walk down the central shopping district of any given American city. You’re likely to find storefronts still boarded up after the looting and riots of this summer. Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, for example, resembles a ghost town, with many shops still unopened and many sparsely patronized despite the official reopening of the local economy. Wood boards over windows declare support for Black Lives Matter, a plea for mercy from potential looters. Add to that the fact that many retail outlets, especially restaurants, are only partially open – operating at a quarter to half capacity – and it becomes easier to understand why jobless claims remain historically high. Even with claims falling by a better-than-expected 130,000, they remain higher than at any time prior to the pandemic. Unemployment claims came in at 881,000, the lowest since the pandemic hit. And survey data from services sector purchasing managers suggests that despite the headwinds, the services sector expanded for a third consecutive month in August. So the economy is still expanding. The ongoing violence in cities and the now ever-present prospect of new riots adds to the drag created by Democrat insistence that we may need to shut down the economy again and cannot open schools. This is a recipe for economic weakness in the weeks and months ahead of the 2020 election. To put it mildly, that’s not going to make President Trump’s reelection any easier. No wonder the stock market, which has done very well during the reopening cycle, started to show signs of rising fear today. – Alex Marlow, Breitbart News Network --------------------------------------------------------------- TOP STORY [image] [Queens Restaurant Files $2 Billion Lawsuit over NYC’s Indoor Dining Restrictions]( A Queens restaurant filed a $2 billion lawsuit this week against Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) and Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) regarding indoor dining rules. “The lawsuit – which covers Il Bacco restaurant and ‘on behalf of all others similarly situated’ – argues the shutdowns unfairly and unscientifically impact New York City eateries and more than 150,000 restaurant workers who remain unemployed,” according to Patch.com. The lawsuit stated in bold capital letters that Il Bacco was located “ONE” block away from Nassau County, where customers were allowed to eat inside.
