[Maganomics]( Today’s Top Stories From the Breitbart News Desk “Escape From New York.” It’s not just a dystopian action movie starring Kurt Russell and directed by the genre legend John Carpenter. It’s also the biggest economic story in America. A “fleet” of moving trucks on Manhattan’s Upper West Side indicates that a “mass evacuation” is in full effect. At least that’s how safety nonprofit Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa put it. The numbers appear to back up what people are seeing in viral social media images. Data shows increased mobility from big American cities, particularly Manhattan, to low-tax states like Florida and Texas, but also wide-open locales like Vermont, Idaho, and Oregon. This follows other recent economic patterns. For example, the Dallas Fed reported that the recovery in Texas manufacturing remains strong, with another month of growth; it also reported that general business activity turned positive for the first time in five months. Meanwhile, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio indicated that indoor dining might not return until there is a vaccine for the Chinese virus. There are currently no vaccines in use for any of the world’s numerous coronaviruses, so expect partial lockdowns to continue indefinitely. TSA data from over the weekend indicates that air travel has flattened and remains at just a fraction of where it was a year ago. Gas consumption is relatively flat, hotel occupancy is rising but still well below the 2019 pace, and many movie theaters opened for the first time in months. Joe Biden gave a speech largely trashing President Trump’s economic policies and praising his and Barack Obama’s. Perhaps most excitingly, he made a full 180-degree reversal on fracking. He no longer wants to ban it! This is good news for Pennsylvanians; it’s no coincidence he delivered this speech from the Keystone State. – Alex Marlow, Breitbart News Network --------------------------------------------------------------- TOP STORY [image] [Fleet of Moving Trucks Seen on Manhattan’s Upper West Side: ‘Mass Evacuation in Full Effect’]( A string of moving trucks was spotted on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Saturday, according to Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa. “The mass evacuation of Upper West Siders from NYC is in full effect,” he told the New York Post. Sliwa blamed the city’s decision to house hundreds of homeless people in the neighborhood’s hotels for the exodus. The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday it had granted Amazon approval to deliver packages by drones. Amazon said that the approval is an “important step,” but added that it is still testing and flying the drones. It did not say when it expected drones to make deliveries to shoppers. The online shopping giant has been working on drone delivery for years, but it has been slowed by regulatory hurdles. Back in December 2013, Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos said in a TV interview that drones would be flying to customers’ homes within five years.
