Make shrimp porridge 🦐 and chicken gimbap! 🐓 Taken just before filming my shrimp porri

Make shrimp porridge 🦐 and chicken gimbap! 🐓 [Maangchi's letter] I’m so excited to report to you what happened in May. It started out in Montauk, Long Island NY where I relaxed, foraged, enjoyed the sea and waves and filmed 2 recipe videos! Cooking at the beach was so fun! [Taken just before filming my shrimp porridge recipe video] Taken just before filming my shrimp porridge recipe video [My foraged sea snails, wild green onions, and ssuk (mugwort)] My foraged sea snails, wild green onions, and ssuk (mugwort) I went foraging in Montauk and got all this precious stuff. I made 3 dishes with these: I chopped the tender parts of the wild green onions and added them to my seasoning sauce, the sea snails were added to my [doenjang jjigae](, and with the [ssuk (mugwort)]( I made a mini sweet rice cake dessert. Just looking at this photo brings me good heart-beating memories and I’m getting excited again! New recipe: Chicken gimbap [Chicken gimbap(Dakgogi-gimbap: ë‹ê³ ê¸° 김밥)]( Chicken gimbap(Dakgogi-gimbap: ë‹ê³ ê¸° 김밥) Typical gimbap includes colorful vegetables and meat, like [my classic gimbap recipe](, but this [chicken gimbap]( is very simple, it’s only made with 2 fillings (crispy chicken and crunchy pickled radish) but the result is awesome! Sesame oiled rice, crunchy outside and juicy chicken inside, sweet sour salty yellow pickled radish, and gim (seaweed paper) are a fantastic combination! New recipe: Shrimp porridge [Shrimp porridge (Saeu-juk: 새우죽)]( Shrimp porridge (Saeu-juk: 새우죽) I knew I would love to have [a big bowl of porridge]( for breakfast at least one time during my stay at the beach house. I got very fresh shrimp from a local seafood market and made this shrimp porridge recipe and video. If you’re looking for a food that’s mild, savory, low-calorie, and goes down smoothly, this is it! Mother's day special meal set by Judy's son! Judy Sullivan had a delicious Korean meal on Mother’s Day. All these dishes were made by her son. Bulgogi, spinach, soybean sprouts, bok choy side dishes, and sweet crunchy fried things (I guess he used my [maejakgwa]( recipe). Her [post was so popular on FaceBook]( that hundreds of people gave her a thumbs up, including me! This is what she said: Maangchi, my 19 year old son who had never cooked more than making ramen, made all these dishes for me on Mother’s day following your videos! It tasted yummy! But he said that was the first and last time cooking because it was exhausting, lol. But now he knows what it takes every time I have to do a Korean feast, lol Dracothea's curry fried rice [Dracothea]( posted their [kare-bokkeumbap (curry fried rice)]( photo on my website and it gave me a big smile. The only difference from my recipe is that they didn’t rinse their kimchi. Voila! It looks so good! They said: “My partner saw your Youtube video and insisted we make this. I am SO glad we did, it was soooooooo good. We’ll be making this all the time from now on, thanks for the AMAZING recipe!” Smalaniz's chicken gimbap cooked in air-fryer! [Smalaniz]( cooked the chicken for her chicken gimbap in an air-fryer and added a few more fillings such as bok choy and carrot to make it colorful and low calorie. It’s such a great idea! She served it with salad, Coke, and soju! Yum! Also, [Michael tweeted]( this photo of his homemade shrimp porridge! The consistency of the porridge looks wonderful. I’m sure it’s very delicious, too! [Michael Reed]( [Michael Reed]( [@myk27x]( @[maangchi]( Thank you so much for sharing this dish! I've always been hesitant to try rice porridge or congee but this looked so good I made it tonight! We can't eat egg but I added some shiitake mushroom stalks for that extra umami flavor! [( [( [9:19 PM - 24 May 2021]( Bo-ssam in Myanmar! Michelle in Myanmar posted this photo to Facebook of [her bo-ssam and bibimbap party](. It looks like a great feast! Chicken ginseng soup season is coming! [Joey]( posted this wonderful, plump-looking samgyetang (chicken ginseng soup) photo on Twitter. In Korea we often eat this soup on the hottest days of the year to cool ourselves down! Yes, I said cool down! We fight fire with fire! [I explained this to the New York Times once]( and you can also [make delicious samgyetang with my recipe](! Amazing messages from my readers! I love reading messages and comments from you on my social media. Here are some interesting ones from last month. My reader [queenbeemo42 left a comment](on my how to make fermented soybean paste video recipe. She drank some beer just as I did in the video! Isn’t it funny? I just boiled my soy sauce yesterday. I also had a beer because I always like to follow everything exactly… BB MJ said she made Korean mushroom soup before going to coronavirus vaccine shot! I had my soup with rice. It is super yummy, I had to make this in preparation of my shot, so when I get back, I have something to eat and my family had a nice meal too. I made my own sesame seeds powder and used green onions…. just wow!! [Sayanı Dewanarayana]( was 11 years old when she followed my recipe for the first time! Now she’s 21! I’m sure her cooking skill is super great. I’m really happy to see you again.
