Welcome to my December letter!
Â
A week ago my YouTube channel reached 3 million subscribers! I want to thank all of you who subscribed to my channel! I posted this exciting news on my social media ([Twitter](, [Facebook](, [Instagram](, and [YouTube Community]() and all the encouraging comments and messages made me so happy!
Â
I left a question when I posted the news, "There is something that means more to me on my YouTube channel than the number of subscribers. Can you guess what it is?"
Can you believe which comment has the most thumbs up? [Sesame oil!]( lol! "Maangchi always uses sesame oil!" Another comment made by Evan on Twitter also made me laugh loudly: "2 cloves of garlic!" Oh my, so funny! Yes, come to think of it again, I often say: "2 cloves garlic." You guys are so cute! Â
Anyway my real answer is: when I hear that you made some delicious dish for your loved ones and made everybody happy.Â
And I also want to share this[touching comment](Â from one of my viewers:
"Congratulations, anyong haseyo and ê°ì¬í©ëë¤ (gamsahamnida) Maangchi! I was only introduced to the Maangchi website in 2008 by my late soul-mate. After a few attempts of making Maangchi style kimchi and her quick to cook food, I'm quite adept at it. So well done my dear ... your food recipes are the reason I'm a healthy 70 year-old."

Heirloom Turkey for my Thanksgiving
Â
What did you make for Thanksgiving dinner?
I have been roasting turkey on Thanksgiving day for 3 years in a row now. Many people think I love only Korean dishes, but I sometimes just want to take part in American style life, especially on their festival days.
Â
Maybe someday I may change my mind and have Korean food like galbi or bulgogi for Thanksgivng, but so far, so good!
Â
In the days after Thanksgiving I made sandwiches with the leftover meat, and bone soup from the bones, and turkey soup with more leftover meat! So basically I use the whole turkey. Quite economical!Â

[New Recipe:Â Ground Soybean Stew!](
Â
I posted this recipe just a few days ago. Soaked soybeans are blended until creamy and cooked with kimchi, pork, and vegetables. The bubbling, creamy, and nutty stew is not only delicious and healty but also very special in my life because it's the most delicious dish that I had from my grandmother made. Itâs a perfect stew for cold weather. Make your home warm with this stew!Â

[New Recipe: Black Seabass Stew!Â](
Â
In Montauk, I was lucky enough to get fresh-caught black sea bass right off the dock as soon as the fisherman brought it in. I made spicy fish stew (maeuntang) with it. How did I like it? It was heaven! : )
Â
I know a lot of you wonât be able to find fish that fresh, so in your local fish market choose a fish with clear eyes, not smelly, and a firm body. Haha, it sounds like what any human should be like!Â

Check out Yena's last touch in the photo below! Can you see a piece of parsely? I used a few sprigs of chrysanthemum greens but she added parsely instead! I think it's a great substitute! Yena and Hanna, you guys did a great job! BTW, both of your names are finished with "na." Anyone whose name ends with "na" can join your party. : )
