[New Recipe: Jokbal
Braised Pig's Trotters)](
Â
[Jokbal (족ë°)]( is a rich, savory dish made by braising pig's trotters in seasonings over hours until they totally absorb the flavors and are soft, shiny, and glazed with the meat falling off the bone.
Â
Once I posted this video recipe, one of my Korean viewers. Kim Byeongae, made it that night. I was surprised at how quickly she started making it after I posted the video!
Â
She commented on YouTube:
"ë§ì¹ëì 족ë°ë°ë¼í기 ì´ì¬ì¤..ì¬ê¸°íêµìê° ë°¤ 12ìë°, ì§ê¸ 1ìê°ë°ì§¸ ì¶ëì¤ì

Â
For you, this is my translation of what she said:
"I'm making jokbal by your direction. It's 12:30 at night. I've been cooking jokbal for 1.5 hours. I added one more Korean herb called gamcho, now my house is full of the aroma of a mixture of ginger, cinnamon, and gamcho. It feels festive."

[New Recipe: Fluffy steamed buns filled with sweet red beans](
Â
Hot and fluffy steamy [Jjinppang ì°ë¹µ]( are irresistible! Soft and fluffy on the outside with chunky sweet red bean paste in the middle, great for a dessert or snack, or even a light meal. I show you how to make them, and also how I like to eat them, in stages! Many people let me know they eat steamed buns the same way as I do! Interesting!
Â
One of my viewers said that she used to have this bun for breakfast when she was young. [Paskaichicho]([said on YouTube](:
Â
"I laughed soooooooo hard when you do the first stage second stage thing cause I do the same specially when it's still hot but you really can't resist anymore lol. I'm Chinese and when I was a child this used to be one of my favorite breakfast choices. Now I live in Europe and I haven't had the chance to eat this for a long period. Thank you maangchi for making this! It brings back a lot of memories."
Â
One of my Korean viewers, Gomdori (ê³°ë리), left a comment in Korean on YouTube:
"ìì 겨ì¸ì ì°ë¹µì´ì£ !!

Â
I translated it for you:Â
"Yes, jjinppang is definitely for winter! When I was young I followed my mom to the market, the old lady sold 1 large bun for 1000 won (about 1 dollar), so I used to eat it very often! : ) But these days all the buns are small, so I have to eat at least 2 or 3 buns. Thanks for delicious and steamy recipe! ð"

A Gimbap Christmas!
Â
Veronica Thompsonâ in Washington made this gorgeous gimbap for a Christmas party. What a great idea! I'm sure it was a big hit! Funny thing is that I made gimbap on Christmas day because me and my family had a craving for it.Â

Meal For One in Australia
Â
BernardC uploaded this photo to my website of his "meal for one" of [spicy stir-fried pork](, [kkakdugi]( (cubed radish kimchi), and [multigrain rice](. I was happy to read that my videos are helping some of my readers and viewers prepare their ingredients before cooking.Â
Â
[He said:Â](
"HI Maangchi, thank you for sharing your recipes. I like your cooking videos as you show the âreal world'. Unlike many cooking celebrities and shows, where all ingredients are prepared prior to the shooting, and no washing is needed to be done during and after the cooking. I watch your videos over a few times, considering the preparation work and cleaning up before deciding which dishes to make. Kamsahamida."
