This isn’t something I expected to do...

Will you please give me a moment to explain? [Lucas Kunce for U.S. Senate] Hi {NAME} — I know you’ve probably gotten a lot of emails lately, from my team and others, [asking for your support before our big FEC deadline on March 31.]( But I wanted to take a moment this weekend to tell you a little about what got me into this race for Missouri’s open U.S. Senate seat. As a kid from a working class neighborhood in Cole County, running for office and becoming a politician was never part of my plan. Thanks to the generosity of our neighbors and people around town, we were able to get by. They helped me go to college, and after that I joined the Marines to honor everything they gave to me growing up. But when I came home between tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, I found a neighborhood that had been picked for parts — the corner store where my mom floated a check boarded up, my first family house bulldozed to the ground. Even now, after spending 20 years and $6.4 trillion on pointless forever wars, defense contractors, and nation building abroad, they can’t figure out how to invest a fraction of that amount back into America. I’m running for U.S. Senate because it’s time everyday Missourians — people who know how to take care of each other — called the shots in this country.
