If the Supreme Court blocks access to the most commonly used abortion pill, weâll have one man to thank. [Lucas Kunce for U.S. Senate] {NAME} â last month, the United States Supreme Court heard arguments in the case to ban the most commonly used abortion pill, mifepristone, nationwide. This radical out-of-touch lawsuit was first ruled on by a campaign donor who Josh Hawley made a federal judge (and picked to oversee the case through âjudge shoppingâ). Itâs been led by Josh Hawleyâs wife. And itâs even been directly supported by Josh Hawleyâs taxpayer-funded role as U.S. Senator. [FIGHT BACK: CHIP IN â]( Theyâve been working toward this moment since 2019, when Josh Hawley was sworn into the Senate and confirmed his campaign donor, Matthew Kacsmaryk, to be a federal judge in the Northern District of Texas â despite bipartisan opposition over his bizarre obsession with controlling other peopleâs bodies. Alliance Defending Freedom, the organization where Josh Hawleyâs wife works as lead counsel, knew that Kacsmaryk shared their extreme views on abortion and reproductive rights. So when they filed a lawsuit, led by Josh Hawleyâs wife, that aimed to restrict access to the abortion pill in all 50 states, they picked Matthew Kacsmaryk in the Northern District of Texas to be their judge. It should come as no surprise that Kacsmaryk â Josh Hawleyâs donor and judge â ignored guidance from the FDA and reproductive health experts across the country to rule in favor of the suit led by Hawleyâs wife. Hawley later used his Senate office to file an amicus brief defending the ruling. The sequence of events is one of the clearest examples of this kind of corruption to date. Since the ruling, federal courts have even announced a new policy to prevent this kind of âjudge shopping.â [Screengrab of two headlines side-by-side: 'Federal courts make it harder to 'judge shop' as was done in the abortion pill case' from NBC News and 'Erin Morrow Hawley is leading the charge to ban abortion medication. She's also Josh Hawley's wife' from Vanity Fair]( [FIGHT BACK NOW]( This is what weâre up against in Missouri this year, {NAME}. Control-obsessed elites like Josh Hawley are willing to do whatever it takes to strip away the essential freedom for everyday people to decide if and how they can build and raise their families. Their first step was overturning Roe v. Wade. Now theyâre attacking reproductive rights across the spectrum â from enacting Missouriâs exceptionless abortion ban, to outlawing the abortion pill across the country, and now restricting access to IVF. This election is our one and only opportunity to hold Josh Hawley accountable, and we canât afford to waste it. [Give another amount]( Iâm running to replace Josh Hawley in the U.S. Senate because itâs time to put Missourians in charge of their own bodies, families, and lives. Thatâs why Iâm fighting to codify Roe v. Wade, restore abortion access in Missouri, and protect reproductive rights across the country. I hope I can count on your support this year, {NAME}.
