The Six of Pentacles represents charity and helping others. This card is called "The Beggar's Card" in my deck. You may be the beggar or help someone in need. Some beggars really need help, but some are just takers, deceivers and liars. The seeker needs to be careful when choosing someone to help. The Minor Arcana represents your choices and actions throughout the realization of your destiny. The Pentacles represent your desire for material success, good health, and a happy home life. Astrologically, the Six of Pentacles is related to Taurus (earth, stable, stubborn, resists change initiated by others) and Mercury (organized, determined worker, communicates with confidence). Symbolism The Six of Pentacles shows a well-dressed man holding a scale in one hand and giving handouts to two beggars with the other. The well-dressed man (and the six pentacles) represents material security, the scale balance and equality, and the handouts a willingness to share. The beggar archetypes represent true need (left side) and deception of the seemingly needy (right side). The beggar on the left wears a tattered yellow garment (excitement) and has three pentacles floating above his head. The beggar on the right wears a tattered blue garment (thought, emotion) with a Red Paper (something of value) protruding from his pocket, indicating he may not be as needy as he seems. Two pentacles and the scales are suspended above his head. The wealthy patron knows that some beggars are deceptive. The beggar on the right-hand side appears to be greedy rather than needy, so the patron is holding the scales over his head. He will restore balance by giving less (two pentacles) to this beggar.
