[I am celebrating by running a Marriage Sale on most of my best gear here.]( (some of the biggest discounts of 2024.) But I wanted to share with you something that took place yesterday, that should encourage you, and is the most important trait in survival. Last night, I got the privilege to give a short speech about my son. It was pretty simple. I defined him with 1 word - "resilient." I choked back tears as I told his bride, and 60 plus of our closest friends and family about the "Monkey bars," You see, Daniel was 3 years old, and I held him by the waist as he attempted to cross the Monkey Bars, they sort of looked like this... A daunting task for any man to cross, especially a 3 year old. Well, as I guided him across he said "Dad don't help, I want to do it." I removed my hands a bit from his waist. But he said,"Dad, don't hold me at all, I can do it." I yielded to his request. I watched as he stared at the next bar for a few moments, and then HE WENT. To this day I am not sure if he thought he would make it, but he did not come close, and he went so fast I could not catch him. As I picked him up, and tears rolled down his scraped face, I saw the taste of failure in his eyes. I tasted it many times, as I am sure you have. It was a brutal lesson for a 3 year old. But HE WENT. He has never stopped going. He never will. This is a true trait of the most honorable men. They face challenges fearlessly. They fail. The get up. THEN they go again. This is survival, and this is what Lone Survivalist is built on. So I encourage you, no matter what place you are in, keep getting up! #stay ready. - Lou.
