In Mexico, observance of Cinco de Mayo is largely ceremonial, marked by military parades and battle re-enactments. In the United States, however, Cinco de Mayo is much more than just the recognition of a single day in Mexico’s rich history. It has grown to become a major celebration of Mexican-American culture.
