The beloved children’s tradition of dressing up in Halloween costumes and going door to door in a quest for goodies has been around for nearly 100 years. The word “trick” refers to the threat of minor mischief if no “treat” is given. Thankfully, most who are asked are happy to dispense treats, usually in the form of candy.
