[Lindsey Cheek for Attorney General]( Hi {NAME}, My name is Lindsey Cheek, and I want to share some exciting news: I’m running to be Louisiana’s first female Attorney General. This is my first time running for office. I am not a politician. I am a Louisiana lawyer, and a pretty dang good one at that! I’m running because this fight is personal to me. Despite having the odds stacked against me, and despite being a working woman in a man’s world, I have succeeded. I am the embodiment of the American Dream. Now, it is my turn to turn around and help others succeed, even in the face of adversity and the incredible odds against you. [I’m going to share more about why I’m running in a moment, but first, can you help our campaign get rolling? Our election is October 14th, so we’ll need all the grassroots support we can get to win this race and deliver for the people of Louisiana.]( [BECOME A FOUNDING DONOR]( As the oldest of five kids, I’ve had a lot of practice making things work with very little. I didn’t grow up with much. My daddy made $26,000 per year, and my mama worked in the home taking care of all of us kids. All the clothes on mine and my siblings’ backs were sewn by-hand by my mama, who — despite the fact that we lived below the poverty level — somehow never made us feel like we were “poor” because we had each other. She taught us to believe that anything is possible, and it is. [Lindsey Cheek for Attorney General]( My primary goal in high school was to work and save enough money to buy my dream car: a (used) 1998 Honda Civic. I worked hard and saved my money for two summers and was able to buy my dream car. To pay for college, I worked full-time as a receptionist at a car dealership, and doubled as a waitress at night to put gas in that dream car. After college, I decided to go to law school — and it was the best decision I ever made. I incurred debt and had student loans after law school, like most folks, but I believed that it would be worth it, and it was. Out of law school, I started working at the District Attorney’s office, which taught me compassion for others, and about second chances. And it also gave me my first opportunity to start making a difference. After honing my trial skills at the DA’s office, I started working for a Plaintiff’s Law Firm, which is where I got to spend time working with, for and on behalf of everyday people who had developed cancer through no fault of their own. I learned about the dangers of corporate negligence and malfeasance — and about the importance of protecting workers and their families from carcinogens and dangerous products. We all know about “cancer alley” in Louisiana. Louisianans have the highest incidence of cancer in the country, which is unacceptable. Louisianans were and still are developing cancers, including lung cancer, lymphomas, mesothelioma and other preventable cancers at staggering rates. [Lindsey Cheek for Attorney General]( I have taken the big guys to court in Louisiana — repeatedly. And won. Again. And again. And again. I’ve worked tirelessly and as a tenacious advocate to bring reparations for the injuries and death my clients have suffered as a result of corporate greed. I have never represented companies. I represent and fight for people. My clients are and have always been regular everyday Louisianans, who’ve suffered unfathomable inequities and tragedies because no one has tried or cared enough to prevent such. I will continue this fight in the AG’s office for ALL Louisianans. I have and will never forget my humble beginnings. It is what has driven me to succeed, and to take up the fights for those who need it most. I know what it’s like to feel as though the cards are stacked against you. But I’m here to tell you that as a woman who has dedicated her life to fighting for the little guy, anything is possible. And it’s time we realize and work towards that together. [Our campaign is just getting started, so any support will make a big difference. {NAME}, can you add in a few bucks to help me fight for the people of Louisiana as the next Attorney General?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [CHIP IN $10 NOW]( [CHIP IN $25 NOW]( [CHIP IN $50 NOW]( [CHIP IN $100 NOW]( [CHIP IN $250 NOW]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT]( This campaign is bigger than just one person. It’s about building a Louisiana we all can be proud of. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work. Thank you for your support. Let’s Geaux! — Lindsey Cheek P.S. That 1998 Honda Civic stayed with my family through all five kids, racking up more than 300,000 miles. I don’t think we’ll put in *that* many miles in these next few weeks, but my team and I will give it a shot. If you can, [pitch in a few bucks to help us crisscross every parish.]( Lindsey Cheek for Attorney General PO Box 13035 New Orleans, LA 70185 United States [LindseyCheekforAG.com]( | info@lindseycheekforag.com Paid for by Lindsey Cheek for AG This email was sent to {EMAIL}.
