[Share today's tip with a friend.]( Hi there, Ah, Friday, the end of the workweek. Have you ever found yourself clock-watching, spending what feels like an eternity on tasks that should take just minutes? You're not alone. A study by Accountemps shows that Mondays and Tuesdays are our most productive days, with a 35% drop by the time we hit Friday. Only 11% of us report doing our best work on the cusp of the weekend. Why is this? Well, it could be the tantalizing lure of the weekend plans, fatigue from a long week, or a myriad of other reasons. However, I want to propose a different perspective - it's not Fridays we should be blaming. The culprit, in my view, is our energy - both physical and mental. Consider how you schedule your week. Are your energy-draining tasks and meetings crammed into Monday and Tuesday? Do you find yourself more rested after the weekend, your sleep patterns more rewarding? The pattern is clear: we start the week with a surge of energy, which gradually wanes. So, if you want to maintain your productivity and energy levels throughout the week, reconsider how you plan your tasks, activities, and rest periods. Yes, prioritizing important tasks is key, but ignoring the energy they demand is a pitfall. You might successfully complete a crucial project on Monday, but if it leaves you drained for the rest of the week, it's a hollow victory. Your productivity later in the week suffers, and you might find it hard to summon the energy or motivation to handle the rest of your workload. In addition, rest is as critical as work. Don't solely rely on weekends to refuel your energy tank. You need regular breaks throughout your workdays and quality sleep every night. To manage your energy effectively, I always advise my students at LifeHack to develop a routine and schedule that suits them. There's no one-size-fits-all routine. The key is to understand your unique energy patterns and work accordingly.
