[Lifehack.org]( Focus on High Level Work Focus on high-level work and upgrade your thinking abilities if you don't want to be replaced by AI. [Share Today's Tip With a Friend]( Hi there, You're probably aware that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has recently become one of the most popular topics. The power of AI appears to be limitless with the introduction of innovative technologies such as ChatGPT and MidJourney. Some people believe that robots will replace their expertise, while others are concerned that automated systems will eliminate their jobsâ¦. Do you also fear being replaced by AI? AI and generative models have been shown in research to play a significant role in augmenting human workers, from call center upskilling to writing and coding assistance. This assistance can be beneficial to workers, potentially leading to better job matching and overall job satisfaction. AI's ability to process massive amounts of data enables it to improve key performance metrics such as revenue, productivity, business growth, digital transformation, and efficiency. In fact, according to New Accenture Research, AI has the potential to double the annual economic growth rate in 12 developed economies and increase labor productivity by up to 40% by 2035. While it is true that some jobs, such as driving or factory work, will require no human effort, the transition will take time. AI will not replace human labor all at once; it will only happen gradually. A better way to prepare for the arrival of AI is to cultivate the right mindset. Since AI can automate routine tasks, it actually frees up our time and energy to focus on more creative and strategic work. Future professionals will fall into one of two categories: those who are proficient with AI and those who are not. To reduce the likelihood of being replaced by AI, we must prioritize higher-level work, upgrade our thinking skills and learn how to use AI. In the software engineering industry, for example, we should focus on designing better software and architecture, while AI can assist with simpler coding tasks. In the media sector, we should put our attention on developing original viewpoints, commentary, and sharing concepts while letting AI help with some writing tasks. Anything that requires human touch or emotions, on the other hand, will not be replaced anytime soon because humans are social animals who value personal touch. If you are still afraid of being replaced by AI, think back to the Industrial Revolution. People were also worried that machines would eventually take over all of their jobs. But look what has happenedâ¦. Machines have increased human productivity, made goods more affordable and accessible, and elevated us to work on higher-level tasks. Some may argue that AI is dangerous and may one day evolve into something harmful to humanity. Some experts are actually working on this by proposing an AI constitution, which is similar to the basic rules for AI to function. However, that is a topic for another article and is not the focus of this email. So, rather than fearing AI, I believe we should embrace it as a tool that can make our lives easier. Improving our own cognitive abilities and collaborating with AI will be necessary for us to create a better future. Cheers,
Leon
