Have you ever felt as if you were living to please other people's expectations ? You do everything by the book. Everything that was expected of you. What school you'd go to. The people you'd hang around with. The career you'd follow. All your future laid out for you, like a bridge that's just waiting to be crossed. It doesn't matter if what you want is different. It doesn't matter if you have your own dreams and goals. You must forget about all that and just focus on following the path others designed for you. Even though that means neglecting your own self-esteem and happiness. Well... that's exactly what one of my students had to go through. His name is Danny. He was a well-established civil engineer with a great-paying job at his family's construction company. He lived his whole life based on what their parents wanted him to do. The high school he went to. What career to study. Even the friends he had around him. He trusted their opinion THAT much. After all, both of them had built a pretty successful business out of nowhere, so following their advice was the way to go. (Or so he thought)... But deep down, Danny didn't want to work at a construction company for his entire life. What he really was passionate about was tech. Everything related to computers just fascinated him. Every evening after work, he'd get home and code his own projects for hours non-stop. He was so passionate he was thinking about quitting his job at the family business... ... And instead, try to make a living off his passion. But first... he felt the need to get his parent's blessing. So one day after having dinner with his parents, he told them about his idea. And they crushed it like a bug. "Are you really planning on quitting a stable job to do this?" "Your dad plans to leave you the business someday!" "What about all those years you spent at college studying to become an engineer!?" He didn't just listen to what they had to say. He believed them. And things weren't the same after that. It's like his whole reason to live was taken away from him. Before, he at least had comfort in knowing that he'd get home to work on his dreams. But now, he believed it was impossible. He stopped coding altogether. And that made him feel a void that just wouldn't go away. He felt frustrated. Without purpose. Like all hope had been taken away from him. He knew he just couldn't keep going like this. And after thinking about his options for a while... One day, he could see everything clearly. What he needed to do was to take control of his life and go after his dreams. See ... People will always have expectations around us. Most of the time, with the best of intentions They want you to own a house. Have a steady job. Get married at a certain age. But what those expectations really end up doing is limiting your potential. And when you set yourself free from them... That's when your dreams and goals become a reality. So, even though Danny truly cared and respected both of his parents. He realized that we'd never be truly happy working as a civil engineer at their company. He wouldn't feel alive. So, even though the odds were against him... He decided to quit his job and pursue his dream of working at a big tech company as a developer. Then, something incredible happened. Even though his parents didn't completely agree with his decision. They respected him for standing up for his dreams and gave him their blessing! Also, all that hard work he had put out coding every evening after work paid off. In less than three months, he was able to get a great-paying job at a prestigious tech company. Doing what he loves every day. And you know what ? If Danny was able to stand up for himself and take control of his life... So can you. And I want to help you do just that.
