Tell me if this sounds familiar...One day, you decided to start eating healthy. That day you went to bed late because your son needed help with his homework. Â Â Let's face it. Eating healthy is not easy. After all, we are always busy. A million things demand our attention every day. We have meetings to attend to. Responsibilities that need our attention. Our days start early in the morning and end up late at night. We know we need to start changing our eating habits, but it's just not possible. We just don't have the time. Tell me if this sounds familiar... One day, you decided to start eating healthy. "Tomorrow, I will wake up early and prepare myself a greek quinoa salad with a creamy carrot-tomato soup for lunch!" That day you went to bed late because your son needed help with his homework. Plus, you had to prepare for a presentation you had to give at the office. You were supposed to wake up at 4:30 a.m to prepare your healthy lunch. But you didn't. You were just too tired. You ended up grabbing a cup of coffee without having any breakfast and rushing through the door to get to work. But, what happens with lunch now? You didn't prepare your exotic healthy meal, and if you don't have lunch you'll most likely pass out in your office chair. So, when lunch break arrives, you get in your car and start looking for a healthy restaurant to eat. You make a quick stop on one of them. They sell cauliflower hamburgers with chargrilled asparagus. Their cost? Your day's income. So, what do you do? Luckily, there's always the good ol' McDonalds nearby. Then, slowly but steadily, your health starts deteriorating. You start having headaches. You feel exhausted all the time. You might even start feeling depressed. Now, what can you do about it? What can you do if you want to eat healthy but don't have much time left and are on a budget? The answer is by cooking in bulk. This is how it works. One day of the week (usually the weekends), you'll prepare a meal plan for what you'll eat every day of that week. Then, you'll cook all of the meals and snacks that very same day. You don't have to spend that much time cooking. Just 1-2 hours will do the trick just fine. Doing this will save you a lot of money. And not only that... It will allow you to eat healthy during the whole week even if your schedule is tight. At first, this might overwhelm you a bit as you don't know what foods you want to make for the week. So, start small. Prepare simple recipes that are both delicious and easy to cook! What you want is to build the habit first, and then go from there. When I started planning my meals and cooking in bulk, my life changed for good. All of a sudden, I had more energy to use throughout the day. All those health issues fast food had caused disappeared. The best part? I became a happier person.
