LibraryThing: State of the Thing Dear {NAME}, Welcome to the April 2019 State of the Thing. This month, TinyCat turned three years old—we're celebrating with a sale, National Library Week treasure hunt winners, and more. NB: Some LibraryThing members will receive this month's newsletter twice—a server error during the first send resulted in having to re-send it entirely. My apologies. If you'd rather receive a plain-text version, [edit your email preferences](. You can also [read it online](. Our newsletter archive lives [here](. You can like LibraryThing on [Facebook]( and follow [@LibraryThing]( on Twitter for up-to-the-minute site news and updates. TinyCat Turns Three [TinyCat](), LibraryThing's online catalog for tiny libraries, turned three in April. We're serving over 1,000 small libraries all over the world with an affordable, sophisticated online catalog. Read more about how far TinyCat has come on [the blog](. We're celebrating this milestone with a [Store sale](—there's just one more week to get your TinyCat gear at a reduced rate. We're also offering extended free trials of TinyCat to all organizations who register any time in April or May. All new organizations will receive a 90 day free trial (instead of the regular 30-day trial period). National Library Week Treasure Hunt winners Earlier this month, we hosted a [library-themed treasure hunt]( in honor of National Library Week (in the US). Thanks to everyone who joined us in solving clues on a theme that is near and dear to our hearts! This particular treasure hunt is over, and winners have been announced! But you can still read the clues and see if you can solve them on the [treasure hunt page](. We're planning our next treasure hunt for June, so keep an eye on the [Talk About LibraryThing group]( for further announcements. If you haven't already gotten in on the discussion for future treasure hunt suggestions, feel free to add your feedback on [Talk](. Talk of the Thing [Unreliable narrators.]( Some narrators just can't be trusted, even to tell their own stories! Do you have any favorite unreliable narrators? Or any books you've enjoyed (either because or in spite of) featuring unreliable narrators? Add yours to the discussion on [Talk](. [Books you have the most copies of.]( Which book(s) do you own the most copies of? Hint: you can see a list of works you have more than one copy of cataloged in your library by going to [Stats/Memes > Work duplicates](, which is a good place to start. Add your most-owned books on [Talk](. Free Books: Early Reviewers httsps://www.librarything.com/er/listYou are not currently signed up for [LibraryThing's Early Reviewers]( program. You are missing out! Early Reviewers offers free books to members—about 100 titles a month! Since 2007, we've given out over 160,000 books. The catch? Publishers want your honest review. How you review a book won't help or hurt your chances of winning books in the future, but not reviewing your winning will. [» Sign up for Early Reviewers]( The April batch of [Early Reviewers]( books features 5,500 copies of 134 different titles. The deadline to request a free book is Monday, Apr. 29th at 6pm, Eastern. Look for the May batch around the 6th. The most requested books so far from the April batch: Did You Know? [Widgets.]( Did you know that you can display your LibraryThing books on your blog or personal website using our blog widget? Highlight what you're reading now, or newly-added items. [Try it out here.]( [Syndetics Unbound.]( Did you know that LibraryThing makes catalog enhancements for libraries' online catalogs? Among them is Syndetics Unbound—developed in partnership with ProQuest. [Check it out!]( TinyCat News [TinyCat]() is the online catalog for small libraries, created by LibraryThing. It turns your existing LibraryThing account into a simple, professional, web-based catalog. TinyCat Library of the Month Every month we'll be highlighting one of the real-world libraries that uses TinyCat for their collections. You can see this month's Library of the Month on the [LibraryThing blog](. Meet [The Asian American Studies Program at Cornell University](! Check out our [Tiny Tutorials]( and [LibraryThing for TinyCat Users]( series. Every other week, Kristi highlights a different feature, and walks you through how to use it in 30 seconds or less. Other Resources - Email us tinycat@librarything.com - Follow us on [Twitter]( - More tutorials on our [YouTube Channel]( Weekly Webinars We also offer free, weekly webinars giving an overview of TinyCat every other Wednesday, at 1pm Eastern. If Wednesday at 1pm doesn't work for you, let us know—we'll be happy to schedule a session for you. You can also see a pre-recorded webinar from November 2017 [here](.
