FDA Cautions Firms Selling CBD Products As COVID-19 Cures
The United States Food and Drug Administration has sent more warning letters to firms that claim their products cure, prevent, or treat coronavirus. bsp;
The FDA, alongside the Federal Trade Commission, cautioned Living Senior that the cannabidiol products on its website violated the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
In a press release on Thursday, the agency said, âThe FDA has observed that your website www.blueribbonhemp.com offers CBD products for sale in the United States and that these products are intended to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure COVID-19 in people.â
Among the claims made by Living Senior about their products is one that state that their products âfight viral infections like the coronavirus and that high doses can have extremely beneficial effects on a population of people suffering from influenza infection.â bsp;
Other firms that got warning letters include Predictive Biotech and PA Green Wellness, which sold a product known as CoreCyte, obtained from umbilical cords that they claimed could cure, prevent, or treat COVID-19. bsp;
With the innocent public desperate to try any cure for the coronavirus, donât you think the FDA should have taken more serious actions than just warning letters?

UK Debt Hits 2 Trillion Pounds for the First Time
For the first time, the UK governmentâs debt exceeded $2.6 trillion or two trillion GBP.
This is a milestone that will fuel debate on how Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, plans to finance an economy devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic. bsp;
According to a report released on Friday by the Office for National Statistics, this development implies that the UK currently surpasses 100% of economic output, and it is the most significant burden since the early 1960s. bsp;
This information piles additional pressure on Sunak to divulge how long he is willing to permit unchecked borrowing to continue.
With debt-servicing fees at historic lows and some economists and analysts calling for urgent action, do you think that premature withdrawal of fiscal support could thwart the promising recovery from the worst slump in record?

Bayer to Part with $1.6 Billion to End Lawsuits Over Contraceptive
Bayer AG has confirmed that itâll part with $1.6 billion to handle the majority of US litigation regarding its Essure contraceptive device.
The device, which is no longer in the market, allegedly failed to prevent pregnancies, caused excessive bleeding, and pelvic pain. bsp;
According to a statement by Bayer on Thursday, the agreement will sort out around 90% of the total 39,000 lawsuits filed in California and Pennsylvania courts. bsp;
Ironically, this expected payout is significantly more as compared to the $1.1 billion that Bayer parted with to buy Conceptus Inc (the firm that produced the device).
Bayer also inherited lawsuits products, including Roundup weed killer, after its $63 billion takeover of Monsanto Co.
With the Leverkusen, a Germany-based firm yet to resolve the Monsanto lawsuits, do you think its finances would endure an onslaught from the Essure lawsuits payments?
