Money is one thing, but it’s far from the only thing (my Chuck story) [Chuck Hughes' One Trade Away] October 25, 2019 My Trip To Meet a Trading Legend [Doug Hill]Dear Reader, The car door of the Uber slammed behind me. Finally, the last few steps of my 3,000-mile journey lay right ahead of me, and I had no idea what to expect when the door opened. After all, I was about to shake hands with the most accomplished trader in America. Perhaps the world. He has 10 very competitive trading trophies under his belt and 35 years of experience trading in the markets. Although he agreed to sit down with me, he certainly didn’t have to. He has to have better things to do with his time, I thought. As I reached out to knock on his door, I have to admit I was nervous. When the door opened… Everyone Has Their “WHY” Maybe it was the quiet confidence forged from years of military service. Or the warmth of a friendly smile acquired only after welcoming thousands of weary travelers aboard flights from destinations all over the world. Whatever it was, the moment the door opened, it was as if I belonged there… like visiting an uncle I hadn’t seen for a while. I and the video crew were about to take over Chuck’s beautiful piece of heaven for an entire day. It was going to be exceedingly stressful and disruptive to him and his family. Yet Chuck oozed sincerity and hospitality. So when he showed me the catered breakfast and lunch he had arranged for me and the crew of 14 on his own dime, I felt embarrassed I was worried at all.  So I had to ask, “Chuck, why are you doing this? Why turn your life upside down for the day and commit to revealing your proprietary trading system, your most sacred asset to the world?” As soon as I asked, I knew the answer by the look in his eye. He didn’t have to say a word. Yes, his system is certainly valuable and important to Chuck. It’s afforded him a life that even he couldn’t have imagined 35 years ago. But it’s not the most important thing in the world to him. Not even close. It’s not about the money. Not the fame… the trading championships... or the trophies. It’s about his family. His “WHY.” We all have a “why.” It became clear to me that, yes, money is important. But it’s what money affords you in life that really matters. Not the houses, the cars, the stuff that you can buy and sell… But the FREEDOM to spend your time on this earth doing the things with the people that really matter. It was then I knew Chuck’s “why.” [Chuck on boat with fam] [On the beach with fam] [On the boat with wife] Chuck has secured a life for himself and the people he cares about. He’s taught his children his strategies so that he would be absolutely certain that no matter what challenge his children faced in life they’d land on their feet. He taught them how to fish — how to trade the market — so they could always have the freedom, autonomy and security he has enjoyed… Then, with his family’s financial future secured… his mission became bigger. He knew if he ever got the chance to help others do the same, he’d jump at the opportunity. That’s why he had agreed to meet with me… to open up his home to me and my crew, and to reveal every small detail of his trading strategy to ensure you can enjoy the same freedoms Chuck’s family does. Giving back, paying it forward, whatever you want to call it… is real. The One Trade Away Challenge is his way of giving back to the people who matter to him… and sharing what he has learned over his 35-year career with you matters to him. Now Chuck wants to know… What is your “why”? Or maybe a better question, WHO is your “why”? Who do you want to help… give back to? Here’s mine. [Doug in grass with family] That’s me and my wife, Mary, in the middle, and our children from left to right: Nicole, Michael, Jess and Chris. I’ve been fortunate to have put aside money for my kids and our future. And it helps me sleep well at night knowing Mary and I won’t ever be a financial burden on them. So now it’s your turn. Show us your “why” by [clicking this link]( and uploading a photo of your family so Chuck can see who you want to help live the life of their dreams. And if you’re like me and Chuck and want to give your kids more than just money when you’re gone, share that with us too! Because your “why” is the fuel that motivates Chuck. He wants to be the guy who makes a difference in your life and the lives of those you care most about. Then his mission will have further purpose and clarity, because he’ll know who he’s helping on October 30 at 1 p.m. Eastern.  So click the link below now and upload your “why.” I’ll make sure Chuck sees every last one. [Upload Your “Why” Here.]( Sincerely, [Doug Hill] Doug Hill Host, Chuck Hughes’ One Trade Away Challenge [Chuck Hughes' Chart Of The Day] If you are having trouble receiving your Chart Of The Day subscription, you can ensure its arrival in your mailbox by [whitelisting Chart Of The Day](. © 2019 by Chart Of The Day.
