But have you heard of any service-based business doing tech well? I haven't. When I think about Accenture, Deloitte, McKinsey, etc., they're known for providing services. Tech companies like Meta and Salesforce are focused on the tech first. When I hear of smaller agencies claiming that they've built a 'game-changing AI platform', I snicker. Because they're spreading their focus while building a below-average product. Trust me, I've done this before. If you're a services business, focus on the service first. If you're a product business, focus on the product first. But never conflate the two. It doesn't work 99% of the time. Join AOA today Looking to scale your agency? The Agency Owner's Association (AOA) is our paid community designed for expert agency owners. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
