The tragic shooting in Uvalde, TX did not have to happen, {NAME}. Nor did the horror in Buffalo, NY.

[Let America Vote]( The tragic shooting in Uvalde, TX did not have to happen, {NAME}. Nor did the horror in Buffalo, NY. Nor the tragedy in Sacramento, CA. Nor the dozens of other horrific shootings that have taken place since the start of the year. The truth is we’re the only developed nation on Earth that routinely suffers this type of tragedy, and that is solely because one half of Congress lacks the backbone to even consider standing up to the Gun Lobby that bankrolls their campaigns and forces them into craven silence. Tragedies like Uvalde happen when dark money and voter restrictions infect a democracy. Special interests rule, and innocent children suffer the consequences. To prevent more lives lost, we need to break the Gun Lobby’s grip on the Republican Party, and to do that, we need to fix the ills in our democracy. We need to end Citizens United, reduce special interests’ influence on elections, and put power back in the hands of the people. Here at Let America Vote, our hearts and souls ache for the parents who lost their children in Uvalde. For the classmates who lost their friends. No community should have to bear that pain. But far too many across this country have had to share in the pain that touched Uvalde yesterday. We will honor them with action. {NAME}, I promise to fight like hell to fix this democracy so we can finally pass the laws Americans broadly support — like simple, common-sense gun reform. I am proud to have you with me in that fight. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
