Latest on Joe Mixon's arrest warrant + Bills to make changes at WR  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Feb 03, 2023 [Sign up]( [Legit Football]( Together With: Stathead [Stathead](  Mixon [Joe Mixon] Arrest warrant issued for Bengals RB Joe Mixon Details: Mixon is [accused]( of "pointing a gun at a woman in downtown Cincinnati.” - He allegedly said "you should be popped in the face" and "I should shoot you now." Dropped? Mixon’s agent [called]( the charge a "rush to judgement" and expects it to be dropped today. Past Issue: Mixon was charged with misdemeanor assault for punching a woman in 2014. Future: Mixon was a cap casualty candidate before the incident. An offseason release would not be surprising — regardless of what happens with the charge. - Cincinnati can save $7.3 million in cap space by cutting Mixon. - The 26-year-old is coming off an inefficient season (3.9 yards per carry). Image: Ian Johnson/Icon Sportswire Super Bowl LVII [Arryn Siposs] Super Bowl LVII: Andy Reid provides update on WR injuries, Eagles could get punter back KC WRs: Reid is [optimistic]( about JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) playing in next week’s Super Bowl. - He does not expect Mecole Hardman (pelvis) to play. Siposs: The Eagles have opened the practice window for punter Arryn Siposs, who [told]( reporters he is “good to go.” - Siposs averaged 45.6 yards per punt (39.5 net yards) before injuring his ankle in Week 14. - His replacement — Brett Kern — is averaging only 40.8 yards per punt (36.6 net). Picks: Nine out of twelve ESPN writers are [picking]( Philadelphia to beat Kansas City. Most feel the Eagles’ pass rush will be too much for the Chiefs to handle. Image: Rich Graessle/Icon Sportswire Bills [Jordan Addison] Bills to look into ‘legitimate changes’ at WR Details: The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia [writes]( that the Bills will look into making “legitimate changes” at the wide receiver position this offseason. Inconsistent: Buscaglia notes that the Bills lacked consistency opposite Stefon Diggs — which allowed opposing secondaries to scheme around stopping the All-Pro (see Divisional Round loss to the Bengals). - Competition for Gabe Davis — who led the team in drops with nine — is likely coming. Approach: Buffalo can’t afford to pursue a big-name free agent due to cap space limitations. Selecting a WR early in the draft appears to be the most likely route. Options: Top receiver prospects include TCU’s Quentin Johnston (60-1,069-6), Boston College’s Zay Flowers (78-1,077-12), USC’s Jordan Addison (59-875-8), Ohio State’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba (95-1,606-9 in 2021), and Tennessee’s Jalin Hyatt (67-1,267-15). - Buffalo holds the No. 27 pick. Image: Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire WR Contracts [Odell Beckham] PFF projects contracts for Odell Beckham Jr., Michael Thomas, and Allen Lazard Beckham: PFF’s Brad Spielberger is [projecting]( $33 million over three years with $21.5 million guaranteed for Beckham. The 30-year-old was fantastic (84.7 receiving grade) during the Rams’ postseason run in 2021 and is expected to attract significant interest once medically cleared. - The Cowboys and Rams are expected suitors. Thomas: Spielberger thinks Thomas may have to settle for $12.5 million over one year with $10 million guaranteed. The 29-year-old led the league in contested catches before suffering a season-ending toe injury in Week 3. - It will be interesting to see if Thomas reunites with Sean Payton in Denver. Lazard: Speilberger is projecting the Odell Beckham deal for Lazard — $33 million over three years with $21.5 million guaranteed. The 27-year-old is coming off a career year (60-788-6) and offers excellent run-blocking ability (78.2 run-blocking grade). - It would not be surprising to see Lazard follow Aaron Rodgers (if traded) to a new team. Image: Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire Akers [Cam Akers] Rams hope to build off Cam Akers’ late-season breakout Details: The insight comes from The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue, who writes that Sean McVay wants to re-assess the Rams’ previous committee approach and [lean more]( on Akers as the primary back. Hot Streak: Akers rushed for 345 yards and 3 touchdowns on 63 carries (5.48 ypc) across the Rams’ final three games. - The 23-year-old appears to be fully recovered from his July 2021 Achilles tear. More Rams News: - Zach Rosenblatt (The Athletic) thinks the Rams could look into signing Mike White as a backup to Matthew Stafford. New OC Mike LaFleur enjoyed coaching White with the Jets. - Alaric Jackson — who went undrafted in 2021 — is a candidate to [start]( at left tackle in 2023. Image: Jevone Moore/Icon Sportswire Senior Bowl [Dawand Jones] Ohio State OT Dawand Jones among Senior Bowl standouts Jones: Jones, who played right tackle for the Buckeyes, had a [dominant]( day of practice on Tuesday. The 6-foot-8, 360-pounder has the longest wingspan (89.5 inches) of any player in the 74-year history of the Senior Bowl. - The average adult male has a wingspan of 71.3 inches. - Jones did not allow a single sack last season. McDonald IV: Iowa State DE Will McDonald IV was [described]( by Daniel Jeremiah (NFL.com) as the “best pure pass rusher” at the event. - Jeremiah thinks McDonald — who totaled 20.5 sacks over the past two seasons — could wind up in the first round. Reed: Michigan State WR Jayden Reed has been the [fastest]( prospect at the Senior Bowl. According to Dane Brugler (The Athletic), the 6-foot, 200-pounder “repeatedly won on vertical routes and created late separation as he tracked the football.” Benton: Wisconsin DT Keeanu Benton has [impressed]( Brugler with his “blend of power and general quickness as a pass rusher.” The 6-foot-3, 312-pounder is dominating one-on-one drills. Watch: The Senior Bowl will air on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET (NFL Network).
