Week 15 Review + Terry McLaurin calls out ref who flagged him  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ December 19, 2022 [Sign up]( [Legit Football]( Together With: Stathead [Stathead](  Clinched [Justin Jefferson hugs Kevin O'Connell] Bills, Vikings, Chiefs, and Cowboys clinched playoff berths Bills: The Bills beat the Dolphins 32-29 on Saturday to clinch their fourth consecutive postseason appearance. - Buffalo (11-3) is currently in possession of the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Chiefs: The Chiefs clinched the AFC West with an overtime victory over the Texans. Kansas City (11-3) is currently the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Vikings: The Vikings clinched the NFC North after completing the greatest comeback in NFL history. - Minnesota rallied from a 33-point halftime deficit to beat the Colts 39-36. - The Vikings (11-3) are currently the No. 2 seed in the NFC. Cowboys: The Cowboys (10-4) suffered an embarrassing loss to the Jaguars but clinched an NFC spot by way of the Giants’ win over the Commanders. Already Clinched: The Eagles (13-1, No. 1 seed) and 49ers (10-4, No. 3 seed) have already clinched spots in the NFC, so there are only two wild-card spots and the NFC South spot remaining. The Giants (8-5-1) and Commanders (7-6-1) are currently in possession of the wild-card spots, while the the Bucs (6-8) somehow hold the NFC South spot. Image: Jeffrey Brown/Icon Sportswire Playoff Push [Justin Herbert] Playoff Push: Chargers and Lions rise, Jets and Patriots fall Chargers: The Chargers (8-6) beat the Titans on a last-second field goal to move back into the AFC playoff picture (as the No. 6 seed). - Los Angeles has a soft schedule — Colts (4-9-1), Rams (4-9), Broncos (4-10) — to close out the season. Lions: The Lions (7-7) beat the Jets and are now just a half-game out of the NFC’s No. 7 seed. - Detroit has won 6 of their last 7, after starting the year 1-6. - All of the Lions’ remaining opponents are below .500 — Panthers (5-9), Bears (3-11), and Packers (5-8). Jets: The Jets’ (7-7) loss keeps them behind the Dolphins and Patriots in the race for the AFC’s No. 7 seed. Remaining opponents include the Jaguars (6-8), Seahawks (7-7), and Dolphins (8-6). Patriots: The Patriots (7-7) ceded the No. 7 seed after losing to the Raiders (in perhaps the most [insane]( way possible). New England has a notoriously challenging schedule the rest of the way — Bengals (10-4), Dolphins, (8-6), and Bills (11-3). Image: Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire Giants [Kayvon Thibodeaux] SNF: Giants beat the Commanders in controversial fashion Questionable Call 1: The Commanders — down 8 with 1:01 remaining — had a one-yard Brian Robinson touchdown run called back due to an illegal formation call on Terry McLaurin. - McLaurin claims the official who threw the flag cleared him before lining up — which [video evidence]( appears to back up. - NBC rules analyst Terry McAulay said he would not have called the penalty on McLaurin. Questionable Call 2: Two plays later — on fourth down — the refs did not call an [obvious]( pass interference on Giants CB Darnay Holmes, who was wrapped all over Curtis Samuel (the intended target). - McAulay said a flag should have been thrown, as the play was a textbook example of interference. Big Win: The Giants (8-5-1) now have an 87% of making the playoffs (per 538). The Commanders’ chances stand at 35%. Superstar: The star of the game was Giants’ rookie OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux, who totaled 12 tackles, 1 sack, 3 tackles for loss, and a touchdown on a fumble he forced. Encouraging: Saquon Barkley, who entered the game on a bit of a cold streak, had his best performance in over a month — totaling 120 scrimmage yards (87 rushing, 33 receiving) and 1 touchdown on 23 touches. Image: Jeffrey Brown/Icon Sportswire Jags [Trevor Lawrence] Trevor Lawrence stays hot in Jags’ stunning OT victory over the Cowboys Hero: Lawrence threw for 318 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Jags to victory. - Dallas was leading by 17 points in the third quarter. - Zay Jones caught 6-of-8 targets for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns. Elite Numbers: In his last six games, Lawrence has completed 157-of-223 passes for 1,680 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 1 interception. - He ranks first among all QBs in passer rating (111.2) and completion percentage (70.4%) over that span. Still Alive: Jacksonville (6-8) is just one game behind the crumbling Titans (7-6) in the AFC South. The bitter rivals meet in Week 18. Consequential: The Cowboys (10-4) have virtually no chance of winning the NFC East, as the loss drops them three games behind the Eagles. The second-half collapse was fueled by two Dak Prescott interceptions and a [foolish]( third down play call by OC Kellen Moore. Image: David Rosenblum/Icon Sportswire Bengals [Joe Burrow] Bengals beat Bucs; take first place in AFC North Comeback: The Bengals rallied from a 17-point deficit to defeat Tampa 34-23. - Cincinnati’s defense forced four consecutive turnovers (off Tom Brady) in the third quarter. Efficient: Joe Burrow only averaged 5.1 yards per attempt but finished the game with 4 touchdown passes. Star LB: Logan Wilson led the team with 9 tackles and also had a strip sack of Brady. 1st Place: The Bengals (10-4) have passed the Ravens (9-5) for sole possession of first place in the AFC North. - Cincinnati (No. 3 seed in the AFC) owns a valuable head-to-head tiebreaker over the second-seeded Chiefs (11-3). - The Bengals can potentially move further up the standings with a victory over the first-seeded Bills (11-3) in Week 17. Image: Cliff Welch/Icon Sportswire Standouts [Jerrick McKinnon] Week 15 Standouts: PHI WRs, MIN Offense, McKinnon, Allgeier Eagles' WRs: The Eagles got tremendous performances out of A.J. Brown (9 catches, 181 yards) and DeVonta Smith (5 catches, 126) in the team’s victory over the Bears. - The duo has combined for nearly 900 yards over the past five games. Vikings' Offense: The Vikings’ historic comeback against the Colts was fueled by Kirk Cousins (35/54, 460 yards, 4 touchdowns, 2 interceptions), Dalvin Cook (190 scrimmage yards, 1 touchdown), Justin Jefferson (12 catches, 123 yards, 1 touchdown), and KJ Osborn (10 catches, 157 yards, 1 touchdown). McKinnon: Jerrick McKinnon totaled 132 scrimmage yards and 2 touchdowns in the Chiefs' win over the Texans. The seventh-year pro is up to 703 scrimmage yards on the season — despite not having started a single game. Allgeier: Falcons’ rookie RB Tyler Allgeier rushed for 139 yards and 1 touchdown on 17 carries (8.2 ypc) in Atlanta’s loss to the Saints. - Allgeier needs 173 scrimmage yards over the final three weeks to join the 1,000-yard rookie club.
