Thanksgiving Football Preview + a recap of yesterday's crazy QB news  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Thanksgiving 2022 [Sign up]( [Legit Football]( Together With: Stathead [Run Your Pool](  Game #1 [Josh Allen] Thanksgiving Game #1: Bills favored over the Lions by 9.5 Important: The Bills (7-3) need a win to keep pace with the Dolphins (7-3) in the AFC East. They also need to hold off the Patriots (6-4) and Jets (6-4). Surging: The Lions (4-6) could put up a good fight, as they enter the game on a three-game winning streak and are coming off an impressive road victory versus the Giants. Field Day? Detroit is giving up the most yards (415.9 per game) and points (28.2 per game) in the league this season. Josh Allen and his talented band of playmakers should be in store for fireworks. Exploitable: Jared Goff will surely look to attack Buffalo’s vulnerable secondary, which has yielded big games to Amari Cooper (8-113-2) and Justin Jefferson (10-193-1) in back-to-back weeks. - Amon-Ra St. Brown figures to see plenty of targets. Key Injuries: The Bills will be without two key defensive starters — DE Greg Rousseau (ankle) and LB Tremaine Edmunds (groin). The Lions will be without CB Jeff Okudah (concussion) and both starting guards — Jonah Jackson (concussion) and Evan Brown (ankle). Interesting: A number of reputable NFL experts are [predicting]( an upset. Image: Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire Game #2 [CeeDee Lamb] Thanksgiving Game #2: Cowboys favored over the Giants by 10 Opposites: The Cowboys (7-3) are coming off a dominant 40-3 victory over the Vikings. The Giants (7-3) are coming off an embarrassing 31-18 loss to the Lions. First Meeting: Dallas — with Cooper Rush at quarterback — beat New York 23-16 in Week 3. - The Cowboys got excellent production out of Tony Pollard (105 yards on 13 carries), Ezekiel Elliott (73 yards and 1 touchdown on 15 carries), and CeeDee Lamb (8 catches for 87 and 1 touchdown). - Defensively, Dallas totaled 5 sacks and held the Giants to 3-for-11 on third down. Pass Catching Issues: Daniel Jones’ top pass-catching options this evening will be WR Darius Slayton (24-413-2), WR Kenny Golladay (4-51-0), WR Isaiah Hodgkins (5-70-1), and TE Lawrence Cager (4-29-0). - Expect Brian Daboll to game plan around Saquon Barkley — who only had 14 carries in the Week 3 matchup. O-Line Issues: The Giants will be without three starting offensive linemen — C Jon Feliciano (neck), LG Josh Ezeudu (neck), and RT Evan Neal (knee). Note that the Cowboys’ pass-rush unit leads the league in sacks with 42. Secondary Issues: The Giants will also be without two starting cornerbacks — Adoree' Jackson (knee) and Fabian Moreau (oblique). OBJ Factor: Both teams are expected to meet with Odell Beckham Jr. within the week. The 30-year-old wideout wants to play for a Super Bowl contender — so the result of this game could potentially influence his decision. Image: Matthew Pearce/Icon Sportswire Game #3 [Justin Jefferson] Thanksgiving Game #3: Vikings favored over the Patriots by 2.5 Exposed: The Vikings (8-2) are looking to redeem an ugly 40-3 loss to the Cowboys — a game that exposed the team’s defense (allowed 458 total yards) and offensive line (Kirk Cousins was sacked 7 times). Scary Defense: The Patriots (6-4) have won five of their last six games — mostly by elite defensive performance. - New England has allowed an average of just 11.9 points over that six-game span. Key Matchups: Justin Jefferson — who was held to three catches last week — will likely see a lot of Patriots corner Jonathan Jones (78.8 PFF grade). Vikings LT Blake Brandel (44.2 PFF grade) has a tough matchup with Matthew Judon (the league leader in sacks). NE Offense: The Patriots are likely to take a run-first approach on offense, in an effort to control time of possession. Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris are in line for heavy touches. Fun Fact: Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell was drafted by Bill Belichick and the Patriots in 2008. He was a third-string quarterback to Tom Brady (who is eight years older). Image: Nick Wosika/Icon Sportswire QB Update I [Aaron Rodgers] QB Injury Updates: Aaron Rodgers, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Justin Fields Rodgers: Rodgers told reporters on Wednesday that he has been playing through a [broken]( right thumb since Week 5. - Rodgers’ completion rate has fallen from 69.7% pre-injury (Weeks 1-5) to 62% post-injury (Weeks 6-11). - The 4x MVP described the injury as a “challenge” but insisted that he will not miss any time. Jackson: Jackson did not practice on Wednesday with a hip injury. John Harbaugh expects the 25-year-old to [play]( through the issue against the Jaguars on Sunday. Murray: Murray, who has two missed consecutive games with a hamstring injury, practiced fully on Wednesday and expects to start against the Chargers this week. Fields: Justin Fields has been diagnosed with an AC joint (shoulder separation) injury. He practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and could play in this week’s matchup against the Jets. His backup is Trevor Siemian. Image: Larry Radloff/Icon Sportswire QB Update II [Mike White] Starting QB Updates: Jets, Texans, Rams Jets: The Jets have [demoted]( Zach Wilson to third-string quarterback. Mike White will start on Sunday against the Bears, with Joe Flacco serving as his backup. - White went 1-2 as the Jets’ starter last year. - Wilson disagreed with the benching — but expressed [regret]( for his lack of accountability following last week’s game. Texans: The Texans have benched Davis Mills for Kyle Allen. - Mills went 1-8-1 as the starter and leads the league in interceptions (11). - Allen has a career record of 7-10 since entering the league in 2018. Rams: Matthew Stafford (neck strain) has been ruled for the Rams’ Week 12 matchup against the Chiefs. Bryce Perkins, a 2020 undrafted free agent out of Virginia, is expected to start. Image: Joshua Sarner/Icon Sportswire RBs [Darrell Henderson] Jaguars claimed RB Darrell Henderson; Melvin Gordon generating interest Henderson: The Jaguars claimed Henderson off waivers on Wednesday. He will serve as a backup to emerging star Travis Etienne. - Jacksonville has struggled with running back depth since the James Robinson trade. Short Stay? Henderson is still scheduled to hit free agency in the offseason, so he will do all he can over the next month to boost his profile. Gordon: Gordon, who was released by Denver last week, told Broncos’ reporter Mike Klis that a “wide variety” of teams have shown [interest]( in signing him. - He implied that he will eventually join a contender. Image: Jordon Kelly/Icon Sportswire 2023 Mock Draft [Bryce Young] Bryce Young goes No. 1 in Legit Football's first 2023 Mock Draft 1. Texans: Bryce Young - QB - Alabama Young is small (6-0, 194) for the position but has virtually every other franchise quarterback trait. 2. Panthers: C.J. Stroud - QB - Ohio State Stroud has the arm talent and poise to solve Carolina’s quarterback problem. 3. Bears: Will Anderson Jr. - EDGE - Alabama Widely considered the best overall talent in the class, Anderson is an elite pass-rusher and run defender. Full: Click [here]( to view the full mock draft.
