Latest on Josh Allen's potentially serious elbow injury + updated playoff picture  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ November 08, 2022 [Sign up]( [Legit Football]( Together With: Stathead [Run Your Pool](  Allen [Josh Allen] Josh Allen is being evaluated for a UCL injury UCL? UCL stands for the ulnar collateral ligament in the elbow. - Allen sustained the injury in Sunday’s loss to the Jets. - He missed four games as a rookie with a UCL injury to the same elbow. Serious? UCL injuries are more common in baseball than football. There are three grades — Grade 1 (ligament stretched but not torn), Grade 2 (ligament partially torn), and Grade 3 (ligament completely torn/Tommy John Surgery required). - If Allen does have a UCL injury, it is likely a Grade 1 situation, which typically requires a multi-week rest period. - In addition to being painful, UCL issues limit range of motion — which is obviously important for a quarterback. Good Sign? After suffering the injury, Allen threw a pass [69.3 yards]( in the air. So there is optimism he can avoid an extended absence. Backup: Case Keenum (64 career starts) would take over at quarterback if Allen is unable to play. The Bills (6-2) host the Vikings (7-1) in Week 10. Image: Rich Graessle/Icon Sportswire Colts [Jeff Saturday] Colts fire Frank Riech; name Jeff Saturday interim head coach Reich: Across five seasons as head coach, Reich went 40-33-1 (.547) in the regular season and 1-2 in the playoffs. - The last two seasons have been defined by sloppy offensive performances and inconsistent quarterback play (see Carson Wentz and Matt Ryan). - Reich was hired in 2018 because of his reputation as a quarterback guru. Final Straw: The Colts went 0-for-14 on third down attempts and gained just 121 yards of total offense in Sunday’s embarrassing loss to the Jaguars. Saturday: The hiring of Saturday — a current ESPN analyst — came as a shock, as he doesn’t have any NFL coaching experience. - Saturday, 47, was a 6x Pro Bowl center for the Colts from 1999-2011. - He is well-regarded around the league and a favorite former teammate of Peyton Manning. Work to Do: Saturday will look to improve a Colts’ offense that ranks last in points per game (14.7), sixth worst in total offense (315.1 yards per game), and third-worst in rushing offense (86.7 rushing yards per game). Indianapolis has a 3-5-1 record on the season. Image: Jeffrey Brown/Icon Sportswire OBJ [Odell Beckham] Odell Beckham Jr. wants a multi-year contract Details: Beckham, appearing on the Complex Sports podcast, said he [wants]( to spend “these next three or four years” in a place he can call home. - Beckham specifically listed the Bills, Packers, Cowboys, and Giants as possible long-term destinations. Lots of Interest: It’s challenging to keep up with all the reports and rumors surrounding Beckham’s next team. In addition to the four teams named above, he’s been linked to the 49ers, Rams, Chiefs, Ravens, and Buccaneers within the last week. Gaining Steam: The Cowboys have emerged as a possible front-runner. HC Mike McCarthy [praised]( Beckham on Monday and confirmed that the team has done due diligence on the 3x Pro Bowler. Cap Consideration: Unlike most contenders, the Cowboys have the readily available cap space ($6.9 million) to sign Beckham to his desired contract. Accommodating his salary could prove more problematic for the Bills (under $1 million), Giants ($2.4 million), Ravens ($3.1 million), Bucs ($3.4 million), and Rams ($4.2 million). Image: Mark Goldman/Icon Sportswire Ravens [Justin Houston] MNF: Ravens rollover the Saints 27-13; add to lead in AFC North Dominant: Baltimore’s defense held the Saints to just 243 yards of offense and got constant heat on Andy Dalton. Star of the Game: 33-year-old Justin Houston finished the game with 2.5 sacks and an interception. BAL Workhorse: Kenyan Drake had another productive outing, totaling 109 scrimmage yards (93 rushing, 16 receiving) and 2 touchdowns on 26 touches. - Lamar Jackson accounted for 226 yards (133 passing, 93 rushing) and scored 1 touchdown. Not Good: Andy Dalton failed to ignite the Saints’ offense, completing just 19-of-29 passes for 210 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. An argument can be made that it’s time to give Jameis Winston another chance. AFC North: The Ravens (6-3) lead the Bengals (5-4), Browns (3-5), and Steelers (2-6). NFC North: The Bucs (4-5) lead the Falcons (4-5), Saints (3-6), and Panthers (2-7). Next Week: The Ravens are on bye. The Saints visit the Steelers (2-6). Image: @Ravens Injuries [Rashan Gary] Notable Injuries: Rashan Gary, Xavier McKinney, Sheldon Rankins Gary: Packers OLB Rashan Gary tore his ACL and will [miss]( the remainder of the season. - Gary (82.9 PFF grade) totaled 6 sacks and 7 tackles for loss in nine games. He has arguably been the Packers’ best overall player this season. McKinney: Giants S Xavier McKinney [hurt]( his hand in an ATV accident during the team’s bye week and will miss multiple weeks. - Opposing quarterbacks are only completing 55% of their passes when targeting McKinney in coverage. Rankins: Jets DT Sheldon Rankins will miss [4-6 weeks]( with a dislocated elbow. He has totaled 25 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, and 4 quarterback hits this season (74.5 PFF grade). Image: Scott W. Grau/Icon Sportswire Interesting [Matthew Judon] Interesting File: Matthew Judon, Justin Fields, Playoff Picture Judon: Patriots OLB leads the league in sacks with 11.5 and is tracking for 21.5 on the season — one shy of the single-season record. - Judon’s teammate, Josh Uche, totaled 3 sacks of his own in Sunday’s victory over the Colts. Fields: Bears QB Justin Fields ran for the most yards (178) by a quarterback in a regular season game in league history on Sunday. He surpassed Michael Vick’s mark of 173 yards in 2002. - Fields has rushed for the eleventh-most yards (602) in the NFL this season — he’s ahead of big-name running backs like Aaron Jones (600), Joe Mixon (585), Christian McCaffrey (525), Ezekiel Elliott (443), Austin Ekeler (427), Alvin Kamara (443), and Leonard Fournette (405).
