Kadarius Toney trade update + Ja'Marr Chase likely out until mid-December  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ October 28, 2022 [Sign up]( [Legit Football]( Together With: Stathead [Run Your Pool](  Ravens [Lamar Jackson] TNF: Gameplan change leads Ravens to a 27-22 victory over the Bucs First-Half Dud: The Ravens went with a pass-heavy approach — 30 passes, 7 rushes — in the first half and were lucky to score 3 points. Second-Half Magic: In the second half, OC Greg Roman took a run-heavy approach — 8 passes, 26 rushes (for 207 yards) — and moved the ball with relative ease. The successful running game opened up the field for Jackson as a passer — he completed all 8 of his passes for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. BAL Injuries: Baltimore’s win came at a cost, as TE Mark Andrews (shoulder), CB Marlon Humphrey (hamstring), WR Rashod Bateman (foot), and RB Gus Edwards (hamstring) all sustained and/or reaggravated injuries at some point during the game. - Of the four, Humphrey was the only one to re-enter the game. - The injuries to Andrews and Bateman are [not]( considered overly serious. Likely: Rookie TE Isaiah Likely shined in Andrews’ absence, catching 6-of-7 targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. Drake: Kenyan Drake (62 yards on 7 carries) looked explosive for the second time in three weeks and could see more work moving forward — especially with Edwards looking at another potential absence. Struggles Continue: Tom Brady and the Bucs’ offense fell apart after a hot start to the game. The running game — 44 yards on 15 attempts (2.9 ypc) — continues to be a massive issue. - After the game, Todd Bowles said “everything is on the table” when asked about potential coaching staff changes. - There’s a sense that OC Byron Leftwich could be in trouble. Barrett: OLB Shaq Barrett, Tampa’s top pass-rusher, is believed to have suffered a [season-ending]( Achilles tear. Division: The Ravens (5-3) sit atop the AFC North. The Bucs (3-5) dropped to second place in the NFC South — but remain in a decent position to win the division. Next Week: The Ravens visit the Saints. The Bucs host the Rams. Image: Cliff Welch/Icon Sportswire Toney [Kadarius Toney] WR Kadarius Toney could make his Chiefs debut next week Background: The Chiefs acquired Toney from the Giants for a 2023 third-round pick and a 2023 sixth-round pick. - The Giants sold at a loss, as they selected Toney in the first round (No. 20 overall) of last year’s draft. Hamstrings: Toney has missed the Giants' past five games because of injuries to both hamstrings — but reportedly feels healthy enough to play. Week 9 or 10: The Chiefs are on bye this week, which will give Toney some more time to get acclimated. According to Jordan Schultz, the talented 23-year-old should make his [debut]( in Week 9 (against the Titans) or Week 10 (against the Jaguars). Playmaker: Toney has flashed electrifying talent when healthy — he caught 10 passes for 189 yards in a single game as a rookie (Week 5 vs. the Cowboys). Fit in KC: Of all the receivers on the Chiefs roster, Toney has the [skillset]( most similar to Tyreek Hill. If he can stay on the field, the playmaking potential with a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes is off the charts. - Toney’s arrival — health permitting — will likely lead to a target reduction for JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Mecole Hardman. Impact in NY: The Giants weren’t using Toney this season, so the impact won’t be very noticeable. If anything, the trade confirms a large second-half-of-the-season role for rookie second-rounder Wan’Dale Robinson. Image: Cliff Welch/Icon Sportswire Chase [Ja'Marr Chase] Ja’Marr Chase expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a hip injury Details: The 4-6 week timeline was [reported]( after Chase met with a hip specialist. - The superstar has been playing through hip discomfort since Week 6. IR: The Bengals are expected to place Chase on injured reserve, which requires a minimum stay of four weeks. Stats: Chase has been playing at an All-Pro level, he ranks fifth in the NFL in receptions (47), sixth in receiving yards (605), and second in receiving touchdowns (6). Impact: Losing Chase for an extended period of time is a significant blow to the Bengals’ offense. Though Joe Burrow still has two excellent playmakers in Tee Higgins (31-455-2) and Tyler Boyd (29-455-3). Trade? The Bengals will likely explore a low-cost trade for a receiver before the deadline. Denzel Mims (Jets), Terrace Marshall (Panthers), K.J. Hamler (Broncos), and Kendrick Bourne (Patriots) seem like possible fits. Image: Ian Johnson/Icon Sportswire Lazard [Allen Lazard] Allen Lazard does not expect to play against the Bills Details: Allen told reporters on Thursday that he is [unlikely]( to play against the Bills due to a shoulder injury. - He said he heard his shoulder “snap, crackle, and pop” after taking a hit in last week’s loss to the Commanders. Dependable: Aaron Rodgers recently referred to Allen Lazard as his most dependable receiver. The 26-year-old leads the team in receiving yards (340) and touchdown catches (4). WR Depth: Rodgers will throw to the least experienced receiver depth chart of his career on Sunday night — Sammy Watkins, three rookies (Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Samori Doubs), and Amari Rodgers. Odds: The Packers (3-4) are an 11-point underdog to the Bills (5-1). Image: Robin Alam/Icon Sportswire Lions [D'Andre Swift] Lions should have full array of playmakers vs. the Dolphins Details: The Lions are expected to have D’Andre Swift, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and T.J. Hockenson on the field together for the first time since Week 3. Swift: Swift, who hasn’t played in over a month, is practicing fully this week. The talented running back is averaging 6.1 yards per carry this season. St. Brown: St. Brown was concussed in last week’s loss to the Cowboys — but is practicing and should be cleared for Sunday. Hockenson: Hockenson returned to practice on Thursday, after missing Wednesday’s session with a knee issue. Points Needed: The Lions have more offensive turnovers (7) than points (6) over the last two weeks. - Jared Goff has completed 65.57% of his passes for 457 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions over that span. He’s also lost 3 fumbles. Odds: The Dolphins (4-3) are a 3.5-point favorite over the Lions (1-5). Image: Scott W. Grau/Icon Sportswire Rams [Nyheim Hines] Connor Orr thinks the Rams should trade for Colts RB Nyheim Hines Details: Orr thinks the Rams are in the [market]( for a speedy running back who can catch the football — and sees Hines as a natural fit. - The Rams tried and failed to acquire Christian McCaffrey last week. Availability? There are no reports indicating that Hines is on the trade block — but the Colts are in the midst of a disappointing season and may be willing to deal for the right price. RB Issues: The Rams rank second-to-last in rushing offense this season (70.5 yards per game, 3.4 ypc). The only active backs on the roster are Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown. - Cam Akers is away from the team and likely to be traded or cut. - Rookie Kyren Williams has been designated to return from IR — but has not been activated to the main roster. Image: Peter Joneleit/Icon Sportswire More News - [Raiders]( WR Davante Adams expected to play in spite of "bad flu" - [Rams]( RB Darrell Henderson (illness) returned to practice - [49ers]( WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) did not practice - [Saints]( WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) continue to miss practice - [Browns]( CB Denzel Ward (concussion) could miss MNF against the Bengals - [Eagles]( RT Lane Johnson (concussion) will play this week - [Commanders]( expect DE Chase Young (PUP) to return to practice next week - [Cowboys]( RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) continues to miss practice - [Jets]( will play the "hot hand" at running back - [Panthers]( RB Chuba Hubbard (ankle) continues to miss practice Together with Stathead Question of the Day Who leads the league in passes defended? - Trevon Diggs - Sauce Gardner - James Bradberry - Rayshawn Jenkins Unlock the Pro Football Reference database with Stathead Football.
