He continues to play the game-manager role to near perfection and has now won all three of his career starts. Playmakers: Dallas got great production out of CeeDee Lamb (8 catches, 87 yards, 1 touchdown), Ezekiel Elliott (73 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries), and Tony Pollard (105 yards on 13 carries). Defense: The Cowboys’ defense pressured Daniel Jones on seemingly every passing play and finished the game with 5 sacks and an interception. - Demarcus Lawerence had 3 of the sacks and continually schooled Giants’ rookie right tackle Evan Neal. O-Line Issues: Despite optimism going into the season, it’s clear at this point that the Giants have major issues along the offensive line… and it's not clear how (or if) these issues can be fixed. Bright Spot: Saquon Barkley had another special performance, totaling 126 scrimmage yards (81 rushing, 45 receiving) and a touchdown on just 18 touches. The impending free agent is setting himself up for a nice contract in 2023. Next Up: The Cowboys (2-1) host the Commanders (1-2). The Giants (2-1) take on the Bears (2-1). - It’s worth noting that Dak Prescott (thumb) is [not]( ruling himself out for Sunday. Image: @dallascowboys on Instagram Garrett [Myles Garrett] Myles Garrett was involved in a non-life-threatening car accident Details: Garrett’s Porsche went off the side of the road and flipped several times before coming to a rest. Both Garrett and a female passenger who was in the vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital with [non-life-threatening]( injuries. - The incident occurred after Monday’s practice. Seat Belts: Ohio State Highway Patrol indicated that Garrett and his passenger were wearing seat belts, which likely prevented more serious injuries. - OSHP also indicated that drugs and alcohol were not involved. Status: The severity of the non-life-threatening injuries is not known, nor is Garrett’s status for the Browns’ Week 4 matchup against the Falcons. Image: Frank Jansky/Icon Sportswire Swift [D'Andre Swift] D’Andre Swift could miss two games with a shoulder injury Details: Lions HC Dan Campbell told reporters that Swift may be [held out]( until after the team’s Week 6 bye. - The 23-year-old is dealing with a shoulder sprain and ankle injury. Weeks 4-5: If Swift is held out, he will miss games against the Seahawks (Week 4) and Patriots (Week 5). Production: Swift totaled 175 scrimmage yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 1 — but saw his workload diminish in Weeks 2 and 3 due to the injuries. Jamaal: Jamaal Williams will start for however long Swift is held out. Williams has totaled 197 scrimmage yards (168 rushing, 29 receiving) and 4 touchdowns this season. Though he’s averaging a paltry 3.9 yards per carry. Reynolds: Craig Reynolds, who played a season-high 13 snaps on Sunday, will also see more action. Image: Scott W. - Khalil Herbert
- Cordarrelle Patterson
- Christian McCaffrey Rookie WRs [Chris Olave] Chris Olave, Drake London, and Romeo Doubs were standouts in Week 3 Olave: Olave reeled in 9-of-13 targets for 147 yards in the Saints’ loss to the Panthers. He’s up to 17 receptions and 268 yards on the season. London: London, who is the frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year, caught 3 of 6 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ victory over the Seahawks. He is up to 16 receptions, 214 yards, and 2 touchdowns on the season. Doubs: Doubs caught 8-of-8 targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ win over the Bucs. The rookie has clearly begun to earn Aaron Rodgers’ trust and is up to 14 receptions, 137 yards, and 1 touchdown on the season. Image: David Jensen/Icon Sportswire Chargers [Rashawn Slater] Rashawn Slater and Joey Bosa to miss significant time with injuries Slater: Slater, the team’s stalwart left tackle, will [miss]( the rest of the season with a torn biceps tendon. - Slater (84.0 PFF grade) will be likely replaced by Storm Norton (43.9 PFF grade) in the starting lineup.
- Though starting right tackle Trey Pipkins (51.8 PFF grade) could possibly move over to the left side. Bosa: Bosa suffered a ‘serious’ groin injury and is considered week-to-week. He’s already been ruled out for Week 4. - Bosa’s injury will lead to more playing time for Kyle Van Noy and Chris Rumph II. Guyton Lost: Receiver Jalen Guyton, a speedy vertical threat, suffered an ACL tear in the Chargers’ loss to the Jaguars and will also miss the remainder of the season. The Chargers will likely have to sign a reserve receiver to take his spot. Better News: In better news, the team is hopeful that Keenan Allen (hamstring) and Pro Bowl center Corey Linsley (knee) will return to practice this week. Both have missed the Chargers’ last two games. Image: Jevone Moore/Icon Sportswire Trent [Trent Williams] 49ers LT Trent Williams will miss multiple weeks with a high-ankle sprain Details: Williams is expected to miss [4-6]( weeks with the injury, which occurred during the team’s Sunday night loss to the Broncos. - Williams’ sprain won’t require surgery. Big Loss: Williams was PFF’s highest-graded player (97.8 grade) in 2021 and had yet to allow a sack this season. Replacement: Williams will be replaced by 2020 fifth-rounder Colton McKivitz. McKivitz, who played his college ball in West Virginia, has allowed 3 sacks on 385 career snaps. Al-Shaair: The team will also be without starting linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (sprained MCL) for up to 8 weeks. - Al-Shaair was one of the team’s leading tacklers last season. His starting spot should go to Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, a third-year pro, who earned a respectable 74.3 PFF grade in limited action last season. Armstead: Standout DL Arik Armstead is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot and could also miss time moving forward.
