The Saints are trying to trade for a RB + Jalen Ramsey injury update ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ July 25, 2022 [Sign up]( [Legit Football]( Saints [Alvin Kamara] The Saints have been trying to trade for a running back Details: The insight comes from Jeff Duncan (NOLA), who writes that the team has “worked the phones in recent weeks to see if they can [orchestrate]( a trade for another running back.” - Duncan wouldn’t be surprised if a deal happens at some point during training camp. Kamara: The Saints need a running back because Alvin Kamara is facing a suspension for his arrest back in February. - Kamara is reportedly bracing for a [six-game]( suspension. RB Depth: Behind Kamara, the Saints have Mark Ingram — who averaged a meager 3.5 yards per carry last season. The remaining backs on the roster — Tony Jones Jr., Dwayne Washington, Devine Ozigbo, and Abram Smith — have combined for just 193 yards over the past three seasons. Candidates: There’s [speculation]( that the Browns are willing to deal Kareem Hunt and/or D’Ernest Johnson for the right price. Image: Ken Murray/Icon Sportswire Ramsey [Jalen Ramsey] Jalen Ramsey (shoulder) is on track for the season opener Details: The report comes Jordan Roudrigue, who adds that Ramsey — who had AC Joint (shoulder) surgery in June — will be very [limited]( during training camp. - According to Sarah Barshop (ESPN), Ramsey will [only]( participate in “above the neck” drills — meaning he won’t be taking any live or physical reps. CB Depth: David Long Jr. (58.8 PFF grade), Robert Rochell (61.9 PFF grade), Troy Hill (60.1 PFF grade), Cobie Duran (fourth-round rookie), and Derion Kendrick (sixth-round rookie) will get more reps until Ramsey is able to return. - The Rams, rather surprisingly, allowed the tenth most passing yards in the league last season. Image: Nick Wosika/Icon Sportswire Pollard [Tony Pollard] Tony Pollard’s versatility “isn't a luxury for the offense anymore – it's a necessity” Details: The statement comes from Rob Phillips (Cowboys.com), who thinks Pollard has [earned]( more touches. Pollard in 2021: Pollard was PFF’s highest-graded (90.1) rusher last season. He ran for 719 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a receiver, he totaled 39 catches for 337 yards. Increase: Kyle Youmans (also from Cowboys.com) thinks OC Kellen Moore should up Pollard to 175 carries this upcoming season. - Pollard averaged 5.5 yards on 101 carries last season. If he can maintain that average on 175 carries — he would total 963 rushing yards in 2022. Zeke Update: Numerous Cowboys’ best writers think Ezekiel Elliott is [entering]( a make-or-break season, as the team can get out of his bloated contract in 2023. Image: Robin Alam/Icon Sportswire Elijah [Elijah Moore] Jets WR Elijah Moore was excellent in the red zone last season Details: Moore, as a rookie, earned an [impressive]( 70.1 red zone receiving grade from PFF. He caught 5 of 8 red zone targets for 53 yards and 4 touchdowns. - None of the targets were deemed “open” by PFF. Interesting: Moore had a higher red zone receiving grade than established stars like A.J. Brown, Mike Evans, Tyreek Hill, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Lockett. Projection: Fantasy Pros is [projecting]( that Moore will catch 64.5 passes for 823.6 yards and 5.3 touchdowns in 2022. NYJ WR Depth: Moore will star opposite Corey Davis and first-round rookie Garrett Wilson. The Jets also have Braxton Berrios, Denzel Mims, and offseason standout Jeff Smith at the position. Image: Joshua Sarner/Icon Sportswire Harris [Brady] Free Agent CB Chris Harris has interest from “about five teams” Details: Harris [told]( SiriusXM NFL Radio “We’re definitely heating up. I’m just taking my time and waiting to see what’s going to be the best fit for me. I’ve still got a little time, and I’m just waiting to make sure I pick the right team. Definitely looking for a contender.” Profile: Harris played nine seasons for the Broncos (2011-2019) and spent the last two seasons with the Chargers. He earned an adequate 62.4 PFF grade last year. - The 33-year-old has been selected to four Pro Bowls and was named an All-Pro in 2016. Interest: Harris said he has interest from at least one AFC West team and some NFC teams. - He has been linked to the Jaguars, Browns, Steelers, and Cowboys in recent weeks. Consideration: Harris said that he will consider quarterback and scheme when choosing his next team. Versatile: He also called himself a “position-less player” who can play corner, nickel or safety. Image: Jevone Moore/Icon Sportswire PUP [Darius Leonard] Colts LB Darius Leonard and Packers LT David Bakhtiari to begin training camp on the active/PUP list Details: Players can be activated off the active/PUP list at [any time]( during training camp. Leonard: Leonard, a two-time All-Pro selection, underwent back surgery on June 7. The Colts have expressed optimism that he will be ready for the season opener. Bakhtiari: Bakhtiari, who played all but 27 snaps last season, is still recovering from an ACL tear suffered more than a year and a half ago. The Packers had been hoping for a training camp return. - ESPN’s Rob Demovsky [writes]( that “it’s unclear whether Bakhtiari had another procedure done this offseason.” Notable: Other notable names placed on the active/PUP list include: Saints WR Michael Thomas (ankle), Ravens LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle), Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins (ACL), Bills CB Tre’Davious White (ACL), Packers WR Christian Watson (undisclosed), Dolphins CB Byron Jones (leg), Jets LT Mekhi Becton (knee), and Jets DE Carl Lawson (Achilles).
