[Mt. Kilimanjaro - Trek the Roof of Africa - Explore the Routes](
Rising a staggering 19,340 feet out of the African savannah, Mount Kilimanjaro is the world’s highest free-standing mountain, and the fourth highest of the seven summits. Snow-capped and majestic, Kilimanjaro’s summit beckons to trekkers in search of bold adventure. With several routes to the top and no technical climbing skills or mountaineering experience required, the challenge is yours for the taking.

[Marangu](
[Marangu](
$2,999 $4,450 • 33% Off • 11 Days
Also known as the Coca-Cola Route, the Marangu route is the oldest and most established route on the mountain, and it is the only route offering hut accommodations for the entirety of the journey. Mistakenly considered by some to be the easiest path to the summit due to its gradual slope, the Marangu is best for those with some trekking experience at high altitude, due to its minimal opportunities for acclimatization. Trekkers on the Marangu route traverse low-lying jungle, alpine scrub, and other-worldly terrain, ascending and descending the mountain by the same trail.

$2,175 $3,012 • 28% Off • 9 Days
Known for its beautiful and varied scenery including rainforest, moorland, the Shira Plateau, and icefields, the Machame Route has earned the nickname the Whiskey Route, in reference to its more challenging ascent and descent; trekkers should expect more strenuous hiking with greater elevation loss and gain. While the steep changes in elevation make the route more difficult, they allow for better acclimatization and ultimately, a higher summit success rate than the Marangu route.

[Rongai](
[Rongai](
$2,350 $3,125 • 25% Off • 9 Days
The only route ascending from the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Rongai route is an excellent option for those looking for a hike through rarely visited wilderness areas, and away from the crowds. Passing through heathland and alpine desert, the Rongaiâs remote location provides opportunities to see elephants, buffalo, and antelopes. Offering a similarly gradual slope as the Marangu route, the Rongai, while challenging, is better suited to beginners as it offers a more moderate acclimatization experience.

[Lemosho](
$2,275 $3,131 • 27% Off • 9 Days
One of the newest and most remote routes on Mount Kilimanjaro, the Lemosho route features stunning scenery, fewer crowds, and ample time for acclimatization. Considered by many to be the most beautiful route on Kilimanjaro, the Lemosho passes through lush rainforest before crossing the Shira Plateau and continuing on through icefields and high alpine deserts.
