Investors and regulators will now have access to more timely information about the financial health of companies holding digital assets, enabling greater trust and confidence. "It's just a phenomenal time of year to get this holiday gift of commonsense accounting," said Edward McGee, CFO of Grayscale Investments LLC. [El Salvador’s plan to issue Bitcoin bonds in the first quarter 2024 receives regulatory greenlight.]( "The Volcano Bond" has just received regulatory approval from the Digital Assets Commission (CNAD), marking a critical step in El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin. Following the announcement, the country's National Bitcoin Office [posted]( "This is just the beginning for new capital markets on Bitcoin in El Salvador." Bitcoin became a legal currency in El Salvador, alongside the U.S. dollar, in 2021. With Bitcoin, the country seeks to make it easier and cheaper for Salvadorans to receive remittances and provide financial services access to 70 percent of people with no bank account. [J.P. Morgan believes Ethereum (ETH) will outperform Bitcoin (BTC) in 2024.]( Per J.P. Morgan analysts led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, the much awaited halving event and its effect on the Bitcoin supply "are well factored into the current Bitcoin price." In contrast, the report estimates that the EIP-4844 "Protodanksharding," an upgrade that could enable Ethereum to handle data much more efficiently, could turn into a potential catalyst for the world's second protocol by market cap, despite concerns about centralization of staking activities on the Ethereum network.
