[BTC Illustration] One of the world’s most famous CEOs just dropped his job… But what for? Are we about to see one of the world’s greatest tech influencers fully join the Bitcoin club? Behind the resignation According to [CNBC]( Twitter stakeholder Elliott Management was concerned by Dorsey’s ability to run two companies simultaneously and tried to replace him last year. But an agreement was eventually reached to have Dorsey continue. Now, Twitter’s ex-CEO said he decided to leave his company because it “needed more than a part-time chief.” Yet, this surely isn’t the sole reason why Jack Dorsey dropped. His key motivation is to make Square - the fintech company he co-founded - more adapted to the world of Web3. As a matter of fact, his mind has been away for a while, as he recently has spoken about bitcoin & blockchain more than anything else. Back in October, he said Square would [create]( a Bitcoin mining system and build its own hardware wallet “[to make bitcoin custody more mainstream]( More recently, he released a [whitepaper]( on “tbDEX”, a crypto decentralized exchange to make “crypto asset and DeFi more accessible to everyone.” To put it briefly, the reason why he resigned can be summarized in one word: Bitcoin. Bitcoin, Bitcoin, Bitcoin… Just two days after Dorsey resigned, Square rebranded into [“Block,”]( while Square Crypto - a wing of the company that fosters Bitcoin use cases - was renamed “Spiral,” reflecting his crypto endeavors. His intentions are clear: making Bitcoin “the planet’s preferred currency.” Dorsey has solid Bitcoin convictions, and he now seems ready to put them into practice. He sees it as “a foundational internet technology that is not controlled or influenced by any single individual or entity”. And his vision goes beyond just the [western world]( “I met a woman in Ethiopia who wanted to create a Lyft equivalent (...). Bitcoin would help her build her business in a much faster way.” With Dorsey’s move, the crypto world gains one of the world’s most influential tech ambassadors. And the Bitcoin space is far from overinvested. Tom Lee, head of research at Fundstrat Global Advisors, [told]( CNBC that “there isn’t enough capital actually allocated toward crypto innovation, so it takes people like Jack Dorsey to really marshal focus.” Digital revolutions need prominent people to succeed. And Dorsey might just be one of them. [I wanna know more] What exactly is a Decentralized Exchange? [Read]( our Ledger Academy article to know everything about this topic.
