Even though we just launched this summer, we already have quite a lot to talk about! [Leaders We Deserve]( {NAME}, As 2023 comes to a close, we’re thinking back on all that we’ve accomplished this year — and even though we just launched this summer, we already have A LOT to talk about! ([Don’t have time to read? Make a quick $5 donation now.]( In August, we officially launched Leaders We Deserve, and we wasted no time in getting to work endorsing great candidates like Averie Bishop in Texas and Nadarius Clark in Virginia to bring power where we need it most: our state legislatures. When it was all said and done, we invested more than $100,000 to help Nadarius win his race! None of that would have been possible without the incredible reception we received from supporters like you, by the way. In our first few weeks, we received way more donations from way more people than we ever could’ve imagined — so thank you! In September, we traveled across the country meeting with candidates and determining where we could make the most impact. In October, we drove more than 1,000 miles across Virginia, knocked on doors and called thousands of voters, and invested in TV and digital ads to help Nadarius and other bold, young candidates in the Commonwealth. Our co-founder David even knocked on the door of a Leaders We Deserve donor in Virginia and got the chance to thank them for being a part of this team. In November, all that support paid off and Nadarius won his election! This was a razor-thin race: Nadarius only won by less than 2,000 votes. And while some folks – like a woman that David met while canvassing named Helen — expressed their hopelessness leading up to the election, we were able to overcome that mentality. Enough of us showed up at the polls and cast our ballots for a better future. And that’s how we are going to keep winning year after year. Nadarius now serves as the youngest state legislator in the Commonwealth of Virginia, bringing sorely needed perspective and long overdue action on priorities for young people like climate change, gun violence, and so much more. In December, we’ve been working hard to replenish our budget. That’s because we have even bigger plans for 2024 — we need to help Averie win her race in Texas, and we’ll be endorsing even more candidates we plan to help in the coming weeks and months, too. But like we said earlier, none of what we have planned will be possible without your grassroots support. [So if you’re ready to help us bring our momentum into 2024 and hit the ground running in the new year, pitch in $5 right now to help us elect more young leaders all over the country:]( [Donate $5 »]( Thanks, and happy holidays!
