We’re ready for change, {NAME}. {NAME}, Donald Trump announced his pick for Vice President: J.D

We’re ready for change, {NAME}. [Leaders We Deserve]( {NAME}, Donald Trump announced his pick for Vice President: J.D. Vance. Vance has become the first millennial ever on a national ticket during an election where candidate age is top-of-mind for voters. But being young isn’t good enough. Vance stands against critical issues that young people overwhelmingly support like protecting abortion, tackling the climate crisis, and passing gun reform. He’s a far-right extremist and MAGA militant that is even worse for young people than Trump. It’s a clear sign that the GOP is looking to the future and raising a new right to succeed them. Not on our watch. We need to elect young people who are committed to bold progressive values and will fight for our generation. We don’t need more young people like J.D. Vance in power. We need more young people like Ashwin Ramaswami, Nate Douglas, Anna Thomas, and Oscar De Los Santos instead. One of these young leaders could be president by 2050, which is why it's important that we set the stage now for a young, progressive candidate to lead the country. If far-right extremists can plan ahead to destroy the country with Project 2025, we can plan ahead to save it with Project 2050. There’s no excuse now: if even Donald Trump and the GOP can invest in the next generation of leaders, so can progressives. Our entire future is at stake if we don’t. That’s why we’re doing the work here at Leaders We Deserve. [{NAME}, we aren’t waiting for the Democratic Party to invest in the next generation. It’s up to us to make change happen now. Can you give $5 to support our work in electing young leaders to offices across all levels of the government?]( [Donate $5 »]( For decades, Democrats have fallen behind in their efforts to invest in the next generation of leaders across the country. We founded Leaders We Deserve a year ago to elect young leaders who have a stake in our futures. We’re proud of our success: → We invested $100,000 in Nadarius Clark’s campaign, who was running in one of the most competitive races in Virginia for the state legislature. With our support, Nadarius won and became the youngest Democrat ever elected to the Virginia General Assembly. His win secured Democrats a 1 seat majority that enabled him to kill a bill to arm teachers as the head of the firearms and public safety committee (It was awesome. I, David, who’s editing this email, saw it happen. He also passed a gun safety law that the Republican governor signed into law.) → Just this year, we invested $300,000 in Molly Cook’s campaign, got her on MSNBC, led volunteers in Houston who knocked over 2,000 doors, setting the stage for her to hold on to her seat in the Texas Senate in the November election. Molly is now the youngest, most progressive, and first openly LGBT member of the Texas Senate. It’s past time for Democrats to step up their efforts in investing in the leaders of tomorrow. We’re ready for representatives that understand why the younger generations are so anxious about our futures. [{NAME}, we’ve been able to invest in young leaders with a tremendous amount of grassroots support. We don’t take corporate money nor do our candidates. With a critical election ahead of us in November, it's more important than ever that we elect young, progressive candidates to office.
