Our endorsed slate of young leaders are up against some GOP opponents who want to turn back the clock in some dangerous ways. [Leaders We Deserve]( {NAME}, We often tell you about Leaders We Deserve, but today let us tell you about some leaders we DON’T deserve. Our endorsed slate of bold, progressive young leaders are up against some GOP opponents who want to turn back the clock in some dangerous ways. Here’s a look at some of the awful Republicans our candidates are facing: In Georgia, our candidate Ashwin Ramaswami is running against Republican State Sen. Shawn Still, one of Trump’s fake electors in 2020 who tried to overturn the will of Georgia voters and award the state’s electoral votes to Trump. He was indicted, but the GOP refused to suspend him from public office.1 Also in Georgia, our candidate Bryce Berry is an Atlanta public school teacher who is running against State Rep. Mesha Mainor, who actually left the Democratic Party and became a Republican after voting to defund public education in the state.2 Another one of our Leaders-endorsed candidates, Anna Thomas, is facing staunchly anti-choice Republican State Rep. Joe Emrick in Pennsylvania who not only sponsored legislation to prohibit abortion coverage under ACA health care plans, but has been a consistent opponent to reproductive freedom in the state.3 This is only a small sample of the terrible Republicans our endorsed candidates are working to defeat in November. These GOP politicians want to take us backward on every issue that matters to our generation: gun control, abortion rights, the climate crisis, and more. It’s up to us to stop that from happening. [{NAME}, we’re doing everything we can to get our 12 endorsed candidates elected in November — but we need your support to make it happen.
