The way Fox hosts talk, you would have no idea that homicides are falling to historic lows across the country. [Leaders We Deserve]( {NAME}, I was unfortunate enough to catch a few seconds of a Fox News broadcast the other day, and I was a little surprised how much they were fear mongering about supposedly unprecedented levels of crime. The way they were talking, you would have no idea that homicides are falling to historic lows across the country: Crazy idea — MAYBE it has to do with the first gun law passed in 30 years Biden signed in 2022. The Safer Communities Act has put billions into preventing gun violence and expanded background checks for those under 21 buying a gun. Fox has the largest news audience on cable TV, and they’re feeding straight up lies to their viewers on an hourly basis. They’re not taking a kernel of truth and exaggerating it — they’re telling up-is-down, left-is-right lies. And they reach millions and millions of voters each day. So that’s what we’re up against, {NAME}. If we want to get more young people elected who will solve real problems instead of screaming about fake ones, and who work on actually solving problems, not just campaigning on them — we need to be prepared to fight back against the propaganda machine that is Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media. These younger candidates who will long outlive Trump and hopefully his fake news machine offer us the best shot of turning our country around long term.
