"One of the challenges of a rigorous training program like Launch School is we ask students t..." One of the challenges of a rigorous training program like Launch School is we ask students to work through a lot of in-depth material. Our Prep courses are also quite in-depth, but the support for these courses are limited because they are free. To help folks in our Prep courses, I asked the Launch School staff to create a series of programming workshops. Since their initial release last year, the workshops have been amazing, and have helped a lot people bridge gaps in their programming journey. These sessions are open for anyone to attend and are presented live by our wonderful TAs. We’ll continue to run them for as long as they are helpful. Next Thursday May 18th at 6pm US Eastern, we relaunch the Launch School Study Tips workshop. You will learn clear mental models for studying and taking assessments at Launch School. [Register free]( Next Tuesday May 16th at 6pm US Eastern, we are re-running the Introduction to AWS Cloud 9 workshop. You will learn how to set up and navigate your Cloud 9 Development Environment. [Register free]( We track the feedback on our programming workshops and here’s what some have said so far about their experience: “Allayed a lot of my fears about the process and investing money. Nice to hear from someone who went through the process and spoke candidly without an agenda.“ “Really helpful concrete study tips tailored to the Launch School experience.” “Simple, helpful tips for all students--no matter where you are in the program.” These are really high quality sessions and in my opinion I haven’t seen workshops like this that are so targeted for beginner programmers. I want to encourage you to attend even if you have attended before. We are always tweaking and improving our workshops through the feedback we get from our participants. Chris Lee Founder of Launch School P.S. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Next week I’ll introduce two more workshops, including a new workshop on how the internet works. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
