Hello everyone, It's time for another "weekly" summary! [Capstone Info-Session]( I'll be holding the last Capstone info-session for the May cohort. If you're targeting the May 14th Capstone cohort, please attend this info-session. If you can't attend, just reply to this email and let me know. The fall Capstone cohort will start in September and we'll have more sessions before then. [Reminder: Introduction to React Tech & Talk]( Just a quick reminder that the next Tech & Talk webinar is tomorrow and Naveed will do an introduction to React. The talk is intended for students who have completed at least 225, but it's open to everyone and is completely free. Click through to read more and register. (I also just want to plug our Tech & Talk series -- if you have an idea for a topic, please email in or ping Elizabeth.) [Study Sessions]( We now have a variety of study sessions led by Srdjan, Elizabeth, and Severin. Make sure to monitor the Community Forum to stay up to date on the latest study sessions. They are really useful and it's a nice way to say hi to fellow Launch School students. [Hsuancheng to Present at RubyConf Taiwan]( It's quite astounding, but this is our fourth Launch School alum to speak at a RubyConf. If you're in Taiwan, say hi to Hsuancheng! [Optional 170 Project: Frankie]( You'll need to be in course 170 and in the final lesson to access the link. Ben created his own web development framework as his optional project at the end of 170. People always ask me "what can I do now?". The answer is that once you learn things well, what you can do is astonishing and limited only by your imagination. This is an incredible project at 170 and I can't wait for the accompanying blog article that will explain how he built Frankie from the ground up. [Tannr's Capstone summaries]( Tannr has been documenting his journey through Capstone, and I thought he'd run out of time to keep this up, but he's proven me wrong and now he's now on week 6! This is a good series to get an idea of what it feels like to go through Capstone. [Halfway there: Reflections after 9 Months at Launch School]( Julius reveals the hardest part about learning at Launch School: balancing mastery and time. This is my favorite type of article because it hits on the hardest part about a mastery-centered learning path. It's rarely about your ability to understand a topic, but about whether you'll give yourself time to fully understand something. Bonus article: Max left a comment pointing to his halfway retrospective that he wrote last year; I also recommend reading that article. [JavaScript Expressions and Statements]( This is a nice reference of JavaScript expressions and statements. I'll throw out my usual disclaimer: it's not reading these cheatsheets that helps you master the material, it's creating them that forces comprehension. --------------------------------------------------------------- As always, archives are in the [Resources]( tab. See you next time! Do you enjoy reading student contributions? Consider writing something yourself! We apply cash credit for accepted articles, and we're also giving $100 credit for Tech & Talk presentations. --------------------------------------------------------------- If you wish to stop receiving emails from us, you can use the one-click link below to unsubscribe. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
