New Yorkers are gathering 6:30 PM Washington Square The Supreme Court has turned back the clock on abortion access despite broad nationwide support for abortion rights. We knew this was coming, but that does not make this day any less heartbreaking and enraging. Overturning Roe jeopardizes the lives and futures of millions of people. This decision will fuel continued, relentless attacks on women, trans and gender nonconforming people's bodily autonomy from state legislatures around the country. It's clear in Justice Thomas' concurring opinion that he hopes it will do just that: undermine the legal rights to equality so many have fought so hard to establish. I'll be joining New Yorkers gathering tonight at 6:30 in Washington Square Park to express our collective outrage and get organized together for the long fight to come.
