The last year and a half has renewed our appreciation for spending time with community, connecting with new people, and working together to push for progress. Brad and the whole team wanted to take a moment to share with you a few ways you can get involved and reconnect with our community. --- Not Going Quietly Screening First, Brad’s friend, Ady Barkan’s documentary, Not Going Quietly, is going to have a premiere screening THIS Friday at 7:20pm at the Angelika Film Center. Brad will be there and he hopes to see you! [You can secure your ticket here.]( [RSVP HERE]( This film is about Ady’s fight with ALS and ongoing advocacy for Medicare for All. Ady and Brad have been long-time friends and have organized together to win paid sick days for all New Yorkers, ending stop-and-frisk, and much more. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2016 and has transformed his story into one that can inspire all of us. Picnic with Team Lander & Jumaane D. Williams Brad’s team has been working hard planning a picnic to celebrate NYC’s progressive future and we want to invite you to join us! August 23rd is our most critical financial reporting deadline of the general election and the date for our picnic. Join us at 6pm ET to help celebrate and grow the momentum of the progressive movement in NYC. [You can RSVP here.]( [RSVP HERE]( Neighbor Network At the start of the pandemic, Brad and our team saw that older people in our community would be most at risk and most isolated. We created the Neighbor Network to connect with seniors during the COVID-19 crisis, and so many of you have shown up to help with friendly calls and vaccine outreach. We have seen first hand and know that these organized calls help to fight social isolation, connect older New Yorkers with the resources they need, and build relationships that will bring joy and comfort to seniors and volunteers alike. This month, the Neighbor Network is expanding its vaccine outreach program in partnership with the Cypress Hills Community Development Corporation and we need more help. Our program director, Danya, shared a few ways you can get involved in these efforts. All can be found at this link: [ [SIGN UP]( You can learn more about the Neighbor Network [here](. --- Our team will continue to keep you up to date on various campaign and community events over the coming weeks and months. Hope to see you soon! Team Lander --------------------------------------------------------------- Brad Lander is a proven progressive leader in the City Council. Now he’s running for New York City Comptroller to help our city recover from the pandemic and rebuild a more equitable economy. As Comptroller, Brad will hold the city government accountable to its promises to New Yorkers and secure a more sustainable future.
