Give your handknits a little TLC to keep your creations looking fresh off the needles for their lifetime. The first step is de-pilling! Pills are the little balls of fluff that occur when shorter fibers come loose and attach to each other. Removing them with a Gleener or sweater shaver does no harm to your knit and quickly makes it look as fresh as when you finished it. >>]( [Image: A model holding a bottle of Soak wash with a purple bin filled with a multicolored black and pink colored knitted sweater with zig-zagged designs. Text: Wash your wool knits using wool wash to keep them fresh without stripping the natural lanolin. Regular soap can remove the naturally occurring oils that keep wool soft and water repellent, but wool wash is formulated to leave you with clean knits and a balanced amount of lanolin. Using a small basin will cut down on how much water and wool wash you’ll need. After your knits are fresh and clean, block them and let them dry. Blocking can be as easy as laying out simple stockinette pieces on a blocking mat or sweater dryer and gently reshaping by hand to the original measurements. >>]( [Image: A single hand holding a T-pin and a blocking mat with a white lace garment.
