A pit-constrained resource delineated 1.34 million gold ounces, at 0.68 grams per tonne, are contained within the Blackjack and Eiger deposits. "We're in the Tombstone Gold Belt, well known for some of the discoveries that are going on. Fort Knox mine in Alaska, Victoria Gold, the Snowline discovery, Banyan Gold. So it's a very active belt of rocks that's been having a lot of success, and we've discovered a new deposit there ourselves." While gold deposits in the area tend to be lower grade (sub 1 gram per tonne), Burke said Sitka has found an intrusion-related deposit that is higher than the average grade. The project is a two-hour drive from Dawson City, accessible from the Klondike Highway.
