I feel the urgent call to serve the people of North Carolina once again. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ {NAME} - I had a few minutes of free time in my schedule this evening — which is a blessing these days as we sprint toward Election Day. But I wanted to reach out to you to share some reflections and a bit about why I am running for the United States Senate. Running for office was not something I’d ever imagined I’d do when I graduated from law school. I had never seen an African American woman sit behind the bench until I was a practicing lawyer. But it’s a moment that changed what I saw as possible, and I went on to run for judge myself. When my first opponent said I couldn’t win because I was a mom, I beat him by 30 points. Ultimately, I went on to win two statewide races and become the first African American woman to serve as Chief Justice of North Carolina. Now, as I watch Washington fail our families while a politicized, right-wing majority of the Supreme Court rolls back our Constitutional rights, I feel the urgent call to serve the people of North Carolina once again. My promise from the start of this campaign for U.S. Senate has been that I would pursue justice with a relentless refusal to see it abandoned. Republicans can try to bully me just like my first opponent. Their super PACs can keep spending millions on false attack ads against me, like they’ve already done. But I refuse to back down. I will not accept a future where our children have fewer rights than we did. We cannot go backward. So I’m running this race to be a voice for people just like you, and if you help me win, I will cast the decisive 51st vote for progress — on abortion rights, voting rights, climate action and more. North Carolina has been rated by experts as one of only three likely pick-up opportunities for Democrats. But the truth is I simply cannot do this alone. [So I’m humbly asking you to split a $10 contribution to our campaign and Kirsten Gillibrand today to help us flip this seat and expand our Senate majority. The FEC deadline is almost here, and it is critical that we reach our goal and raise the resources necessary to compete with the super PACs trying to buy this seat.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [DONATE NOW: $10]( [DONATE NOW: $25]( [DONATE NOW: $50]( [DONATE NOW: $100]( [DONATE NOW: $250]( [OTHER AMOUNT]( > Our country is at a pivotal moment. The status quo is not working for too many of our families — and frankly, it has been broken for a while. But together, we have the power to transform what is possible, protect our hard-won rights, and create a brighter future for the next generation. Thank you for being part of this fight with us.
