Yes really. ($10 if you can guess what I'm going as ð) But before I get all dressed up to impress the tigers and turtles, I wanted to share a quick James Clear-inspired 3, 2, 1 round up of: - ð¤ 3 nerdy posts on funnels, copy niches and new services I just discovered (including how we might be taking over the world of ... restaurants?)
- ð° 2 big pieces of marketing news (turned into memes)
- ð¬ And 1 quote I've been digging (to ponder this weekend) Let's dive in! 3 nerdy posts on funnels, copy niches and new services I just discovered I. did [a page-by-page break down]( of an 8 (possibly 9?) figure funnel that personalization nerds (like me!) will gobble up faster than Halloween candy in a 1st grade classroom... This week, I've spent *almost* all my time working my new course on cold email strategies, The Great Equalizer. But the other day, I stumbled onto this insane funnel that blew my mind. It used personalization (in a VSL) in a way I'd NEVER seen before. So naturally, I just had to drop what I was doing and break down the entire funnel, page-by-page. If you're someone who likes to nerd out on persuasion, personalization and offer structures, it just might be [the best 5 minutes of your day today](. II. Is it time for copywriters to take over the world of ... [menu writing]( Earlier this week, Amanda and I were having dinner at this teeny-tiny little restaurant in the historic part of Boise. The food was DELICIOUS. (I had a Braised Lamb Bolognese that I'm still drooling about ð¤¤) But the thing I really couldn't get over was how great the copy on the menu was. Not only did we order things specifically because of how things were worded on the menu. But we took tons of the "upsells" too. Which got me thinking? Why aren't more copywriters writing stuff like this? So I posted about it on LinkedIn. And come to find out, there's a WHOLE world of copywriting for menus that I'd just never heard about. [Check out the comments on the post if this fascinates you as much as it does me](. Tons of people shared their experiences writing for menus and even reported back to the impact it had on the bottom line. III. Looking to niche down your services? Well ... everyone I've known to write for [these 7 niches]( ALWAYS seems to crush it. A lot of people ask me - "Rob, what niche should I focus on?" I think there's tons of opportunity in ALL kinds of niches. But I wrote down a handful of the ones I see people consistently crush it in. Funny enough, I've written for all of them. And niche health stuff is by far my favorite (bc I'm a health nut). But there's lots of money to be made in [ALL of these]( (plus a few more people added in the reply section). 2 BIG pieces of news this week in memes I. The AI copywriting tool, Jasper, just raised $125m at $1.5 billion valuation ... And I made a meme to commemorate the day: But seriously, it will be very interesting to see how this impacts the copywriting world over the next 12-24 months. Now that they have $125m to deploy, there's no doubt, we will see more Jasper ads. And no doubt that more businesses will start using it. Where I do have some doubts is how copywriters will need to interface with and use AI tools for their writing over time. [Read more about the recent raise, the backstory and what the founders are planning to do next in this thread on Twitter](. II. Klaviyo just published a MASSIVE report on how US consumers plan to shop for BFCMââand broke it down into 13 demographics for you to learn from. If you've been curious how things might shake out for your (or your clients') customers this holiday season, never fear, relief is here! Klaviyo just published a massive report breaking it all down. And you can see where consumers are cutting back spending. And where they plan to spend even more money going into the last few months of the year. [Check it out here](. 1 quote I've been digging âThe cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.â â Isak Dinesen. Amanda sent me this quote the other day. And I loved the message behind it. Because it's so true! At least for me. Sometimes, you gotta work a problem out. Sometimes, you need to vent about it. And sometimes, you just need to take a break.
