Happy Friday. And happy (early) Labor Day weekend. Amanda and I are planning to hit up a hot air balloon festival and do LOTS of grilling out this weekend. But before we officially let the long weekend commence, I wanted to share a quick James Clear-inspired 3, 2, 1 round up of: - 🎥 3 fresh copywriting videos (to binge on the road this weekend) - 🍾 2 student wins I'm popping champagne to celebrate - 🐦 And 1 idea I shared on LinkedIn that people really seemed to like Let's dive in! 3 fresh copywriting videos to binge on the road this weekend I. vs Artificial Intelligence: Who can make a better video using the same script?]( Earlier this week, I dropped a new video breaking down some common mistakes I see people make when writing video ads and scripts. And (more importantly) I showed you exactly how to fix these issues one-by-one. This video was a lot of fun for me to make. In it, you'll see: - Me use artificial intelligence (yes, AI robots 🤖) to prove a really important point about script writing - A voice actor I hired (that sounds exactly like a guy in a now famous commercial) - The most important thing you can do to charge your videos with emotion (that most people never consider when scripting) - And a bunch, bunch more To be fair, I did kind of bribe people to leave a comment on the video. But so far this is what they're saying... II. Million Emails: Turn Your List Into A Money-Printing Machine]( Want to see a "leaked" talk I gave earlier this year at AdWorld? Check this out! I covered some of the secrets behind how I've generated over $100 million with email. But most people's favorite part of the talk (including mine) was where I shared my 4 Fundamental Laws of $100 Million Emails. And how not following these rules can completely destroy your email success. And to really make things fun, I ended up giving away LOTS of proven email ideas that you can use to sell out new product launches, write better sales emails and increase your engagement … starting TODAY. ⚠️ NOTE: This is a little longer video (at roughly 35 minutes of content). But if you have a road trip or plane ride coming up this weekend, throw this on 1.5-2x speed and jam out to some DEEP email wisdom. III. [STOP sending this sales email to your list]( A little while back, I wrote a post about a type of email that you should NEVER send to your list And I expected a lot of blowback … because a lot of people send this type of email out. But actually, people loved it. So I made a quick video, further explaining my thoughts … … and showing why you never want to send an email like this to your list… If you want more opens, clicks and sales... See why I'm STAUNCHLY against this one very common type of email above. 🍾 2 student wins I'm popping champagne to celebrate 🍾 I. Audrey bags an easy Black Friday client from a referral Amanda and I sent her People think I just say this to "say it," but if you impress me with copy and I have a sense of your skills, Amanda and I will send you more referrals than you can handle. And this was a textbook case of that. My student Audrey has kept me in the loop of gigs she's working on... And so when a former client reached out to Amanda to run a Black Friday promo for her, we instantly knew a freelancer who would be the perfect fit for it. The client loves her. Audrey has a new gig. Wins all around! I love it. Oh what's that? You didn't know people are prepping for Black Friday now? If only there was a free summit with lots of great marketers to teach you some powerful insights for how to blow this year's campaign out of the water. Hmm... Where have I heard of something like that before? II. Stanley writes a pitch so GOOD the client gets addicted to his work Ha! What a cool success story. Guy watches my video series, gets my free scripts, tests them out... Client doesn't see the first one until it was too late... But then, she goes back to proposals and loved reading his so much she went back and hired him for something completely different. Now she can't stop sending him work! Go Stanley! Excellent work all around. 1 LinkedIn Post people really seemed to like Anyway, enjoy your looooooong weekend! I'll catch you next week! Rob "Balloon Boy" Allen P.S. Speaking of hot air balloons, a couple years ago, Amanda and I actually flew in one. And while it was beautiful, I have an insane fear of heights. So the whole time before we went up, I was nervous. Then, our "captain" decides to reveal that he's blind in one eye...and having trouble seeing out of the other one. And he keeps missing the spots to land because there was so much wind. And he says, "I don't know if we're going to be able to get down today ..." 😱 So what was supposed to be a 1 hour ride turned into 2 hours where we crashed into a fence and landed the balloon on someone's house. So suffice it to say, we'll just be watching the balloons this weekend, ha! Here's a much younger me, slightly drenched in sweat, glad to be back on the ground... Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
