don't do this... ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Earlier today, Amanda and I were in the kitchen making homemade burrito bowls for lunch. I was playing "head chef," when all the sudden her phone lights up with a call. I leaned forward to catch it (before it buzzed off the counter). A 731 area code. Jackson, TN. "Spam?" "Yeah, definitely," Amanda said, denying the call and spinning back to me. And then, two seconds later, my phone started to ring! I looked at the screen... "The same 731 number?!" Now we both live quite far from our families back in Tennessee. And we sometimes worry that someone is going give us a call one day from a hospital. So I answered, hopping it was not one of those calls... "Hello?" *crackling sounds* "... Hell-oh?" I said again, enunciating more clearly this time. *crackling sounds again* Right before I hung up, someone started to speak. "Uh, yes, hi. Is this Robert Allen?" (they actually said my middle name too, but that will never be revealed. muhahahahaha) "This is him." "Ah very good. I've been trying to get in touch because I have some important news to share." Important news? My heart skips a beat with worry. She continues, "I'm calling in regard to Click Here Agency's lead gen efforts. I can help you-" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? It wasn't enough that the people pitching these lead gen (and SEO) offers have practically made it where agency owners and ecommerce store owners can't use LinkedIn anymore... ...And they send So. Much. Spam email you almost need a separate email address (kept entirely private and offline) to function. And now they've resorted to cold calling. And not just one but BOTH founders of the company during the middle of the day? Don't get me wrong...I'm all for a little cold prospecting. But to cold call someone in 2022? Surely ... there has to be a better way? And yet... this isn't even the worst I've seen lately. Recently, I saw a whole crop of these Spammers going so far as to send unsolicited calendar invites to book meetings! [Image source]( And one guy who half understood the calendar tactic sent me this... Um... What did you just read? I don't know either! I'm honestly not even sure the guy writing did... Icky, Icky, Icky, hehe! Now, I think I've mentioned this to y'all, but I'm planning to release a Cold Email Bootcamp in the near future. Where I'm going to show you everything I know about sending cold messages that *actually* get a response from the people you want. Part of me has resisted this for so long because you have people running around like these folks who completely abuse and destroy the techniques that can be uber-powerful. And to be honest: it's kind of discouraging to see the "niche" for the product you're creating feel so scuzzy. But I've given it a lot of thought. And I think there's not only a way that I can teach it and make it completely non-scammy and fun... But also to ONLY work for copywriters (so all these scammy lead gen people will never want to buy it :P )... Sound interesting to you? Well, working on that now! Until then here's some extremely tactical cold email stuff to munch on... Free Training: > [8 Rules of Doing Cold Email Right]( (4 minute read, highly practical) > [Don't make these cold email mistakes]( (14 minute watch) > [6 worst types of cold emailers]( minute read, REALLY funny) Paid Course w/basics of Cold Email: > [Learn more here]( ($197) Rob "Don't call me when I'm making a burrito bowl" Allen P.S. I've posted this before but this really is me when it comes to sales call... Anyone relate? In sum: DON'T CALL ME :) Are we connected on Twitter?
