And just before we headed out, I pushed send on an email announcing that you could now download my new ebook, 129-Pages of Unfiltered Answers to Every Freelance Copywriting Question You've Ever Had, for free. Then, we went to the event... Had fun walking around the grounds, listened to way too many 70s tunes, sawed a log in the name of cleaner trails, and (most importantly) tried LOTS of local beers. At one point, I think I'd had like 22 samples... (Which, with my light-weight frame, translates into me looking A LOT like this emoji 🥴) So Amanda went off to get more drink tickets. And while I waited on her to come back, I pulled out my phone, checked my email, and was stunned by what I saw.... HUNDREDS (AND HUNDREDS) OF EMAILS FLOODING MY INBOX. All from my course-hosting provider (Podia) saying "so and so downloaded the 129-page" ... and "so and so bought blah, blah." Many were still pouring in while I was looking at my inbox. Now remember: I've had 22 healthy sample pours at this point. So I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is an illusion ... or I've been hacked ... or what the heck was going on. But I knew I almost NEVER get this many emails, especially on the weekend. So when we got back home (by Uber, of course, lol), I checked... And it turned out that little ebook I published had gotten quite a bit of traction. To the tune of ... Over 1,200 people downloading it. Making it the single most successful, prolific and viral resource I'd shared with my list in a single email... ever. It goes to show you that when you make really good content... Answering your audience's exact questions ... And then give it to them for free ... It gets GOBBLED UP. Devoured even. And shared somewhat virally (people are still downloading it today). Hopefully, you see the copy lesson in this. And maybe you even got a "micro-funnel" idea to swipe. Because while I didn't plan for this, it ended up being a smash hit. As so it goes with some of the best ideas! Anyway, if you're one of the few people who hasn't gotten it yet, you can still get it for free here: [( As an added bonus: I've also been trying a little "experiment" with anyone who downloads the ebook and does not have a ticket to The Copywriting Summit. Which involves more free gifts. But I don't want to over-sell it. Way more fun if you experience it yourself. Happy reading, Rob "That 70s Copywriter?" Allen Are we connected on Twitter? Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
