Recipes to use your leftover ingredients. [logo]( Sunday Recipe Inspiration Batch 490 [Fruit and Nut Granola Loaf](
Sarah Jampel Test Kitchen Manager When I think "spring cleaning," I don't think about scrubbing the baseboards or changing out the duvets (sorry, cohabitants); but I do think about reaching into my pantry and using up the dry goods that have been living rent free in the way back for far too long. It's time to take inventory, use what I've got, and clear space for fresh talent. One natural home for lots of oats, nuts, and seeds? Granola. Our [Sourdough Granola]( has the distinct advantage of calling for fed or unfed starter, which means you can also clean out the discard in the fridge. (Plus, it makes for irresistibly crisp clusters!) This sliceable [Fruit and Nut Granola Loaf]( (pictured above) serves much the same purpose β throw in the seeds and dried fruits of your choosing β but it's heartier and less sweet. I love a couple of slices toasted and spread with butter for a filling breakfast or snack. Or, for a real treat, I recommend our [Breakfast Cookies](, which call for a whopping 4 1/2 cups of all kinds of add-ins: [Jammy Bits](, shredded coconut, barley flakes, oats, granola, chocolate chips, dried fruit, nuts, and more. Shop your pantry! Leftover oats and seeds can also go into our [Multigrain Sunflower Bread](, which is both light and sturdy. (Psst: Toast the sunflower and sesame seeds first for extra flavor.) And any stray grains that are still hanging around (I'm haunted by a lingering 1/4 cup of millet), can be simmered into porridge, then mixed into [Breakfast Porridge Bread](. My spring cleaning also consists of restocking the staples that have been running low, like [vanilla](, [cinnamon](, and [parchment sheets](, and filling the now-empty cupboard space with, well, the ingredients I've been eyeing all winter: tart [Lemon Crumbles]( (I'll mix them into scones), [Cinnamon Sweet Bits]( (these go into my [cinnamon roll dough](), and [Fiori di Sicilia]( (the secret to a great lemon cake). And with the pantry clean and well-stocked, [spring baking]( can officially begin. Let the sunshine in, Sarah This week at King Arthur I've been waiting for spring to bake [this pretty cake](. New to bread baking? [Watch Martin]( make the easiest loaf of bread ever. All about [flour and butter's BFF](. Have you tried our new [gluten-free bread flour](?! It's a game-changer.
