Join us in celebrating National Arts in Education Week! [Kennedy Center] [Kennedy Center] [Thank and Arts Teacher]( It’s the last day of National Arts in Education Week! Reading through the messages of gratitude we have received from around the country has made one thing clear—no matter where you’re from, no matter if you’re an artist, a scientist, an athlete, or anything else—the ability to express yourself through art expands opportunities in all areas of life. Read some of the latest thank you messages we’ve received below and [submit yours here]( [Share your story]( [I want to express my forever gratitude to my Piano teacher, as thanks to her I learned that as a musician and a woman in the industry, it is very important to be loyal to your professional criteria and stand up for what is right. Whether it is helping other people find their voice or just standing up for yourself. Thanks to my teacher, who also showed me the importance of always learning something new every day. Music is like water, it evolves, flows, changes and nurtures our soul. -Ana from Massachusetts] [My art teachers taught me to think critically, work through challenges, they inspired me - which transferred to my passion inspiring others. They taught me to dream and how to make that dream possible. I am the leader I am today and the teacher I am because of John and Patricia. -Michelle from Arizona] [Mr. Silverbook was my Jazz Band teacher in high school. He'd often come into class and say, “I'm going to change your lives today!” and then share incredible jazz classics with the class. I often look back at this moment as the beginning of my artistic journey, as it opened up my eyes to the vast world of music and art. To all the art teachers who make learning a joy and help enrich our lives through creativity: Thank you. -Tony from Maryland] [Here is what my daughter wrote about her love for her school and her art teacher last year, “I love academics and all that, but my favorite class of all is art. I feel that art is all emotion and it fills in the spaces where writing can’t reach. I also love our art teacher, Mr. Washington. He’s so nice, a great artist, and I couldn’t imagine my life without him.” - Christina, District of Columbia] [I want to express my forever gratitude to my Piano teacher, as thanks to her I learned that as a musician and a woman in the industry, it is very important to be loyal to your professional criteria and stand up for what is right.
